India is the largest trading partner of UAE, while UAE is India s second largest export destination for engineering goods after USA. Trend in Indian exports in the past three years (Value wise) Indian exports of the Focus Products that are going to be exhibited in Arab Health in Dubai 2019 have been maintaining a volatile trend, but overall managed to retain the benchmark

3 of US$ 9 million from 2015 to Indian exports to UAE was recorded at US$ 9.8 million in 2015, next scaling up to US$ 12.1 million in 2016 but again sharply falling down to US$ 9.3 million in Indian exports of these products increased in 2016 from US$ 9.8 million in 2015 to the extent of 23.5% on calendar basis and then falling down by the same percentage of around 23.1% to US$ 9.3 billion in CAGR showed a decline in exports to the extent of 2.6% which is mainly caused by feeble demand following the economic slowdown in the Middle East due to steep fall of oil price. Economic scenario in the UAE United Arab Emirates is the springboard to Middle Eastern, Africa and Asia for medical device. It is amongst the top 10 destinations for export of medical devices from India. Its manufacturing capability is limited; therefore the market will continue to rely on imported medical devices. Population growth, a growing medical tourism industry, continuous healthcare infrastructure developments, expanding health insurance and increasing health expenditure which are all factors contributing to market growth. Moreover, the GCC s healthcare market has experienced stable growth in the past years, driven by a growing ageing demographic and increased healthcare expenditure per capita. The rising demand of healthcare services paired with restricted supply of healthcare solutions has resulted in governments across the GCC implementing new technologies, systems of care, and considering further partnerships with international healthcare providers. GCC governments continue to invest to modernize and reform its healthcare systems, as well as promote economic diversification in the region.
