2 Stepping into its th year, IIM Ranchi cemented its position as one of the premier business schools of the country as it conducted the Final Placement process for the batch of The total number of students that participated in the process was 149, with 111 from the flagship PGDM course and 38 from the dedicated PGDHRM course. The Class of 214 comprised of a mix of brilliant set of students from diverse educational backgrounds such as Arts, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Pharmacy and Medicine. The batch had students with prior work experience in reputed firms such as Deloitte, MuSigma, Oracle, Evalueserve, Akzo Nobel, Bharti Airtel, Nokia Siemens Networks, L&T, Reliance Infra, ABB, Alstom, TATA Power, and SAIL. Despite the current economic downturn, a multitude of companies lined up to hire some of the brightest minds of the country. The season saw 77 recruiters that affirmed their faith in IIM Ranchi s unique course pedagogy, faculty and the quality of students on offer. Some of the most reputed and respected organizations, representing plethora of sectors that include: Banking, Consulting, FMCG, Investment Banking, Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, IT, Pharmaceuticals and Media preferred the talent of IIM Ranchi. Moreover, 18% of the batch was offered PPO/PPIs after showcasing their talent and proving their mettle during the summer internships. Some of the prominent recruiters were JP Morgan Chase, Citi, CCIL, Kotak Mahindra, Yes Bank, ICICI, KPMG, Reckitt Benckiser, GSK Pharma, Britannia, Mahindra, RPG Group, HT Media, Beckton Dickinson, Decathlon, Raymond, Pidilite, Bristlecone, JSPL, Daimler, L&T, Cognizant, Maruti, Hero and TATA Steel offering varied profiles to candidates such as Investment Banking Research, Corporate Banking, Retail Product Banking, Product Development, IT consulting, etc. Other elite profiles offered were Management Trainee - Global Leadership Program, Management Consultant, Assistant General Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, Project Manager, and Strategy Manager reflecting the changing trends.

Some of the industry sectors such as Power, Real Estate, Consulting, Banking, and Technology recruited in sizeable numbers owing to the diverse talent pool and quality of students.

Without effort you cannot be prosperous. - Plato Finance: Under the mentorship of IIM Calcutta, in a very short span of time, IIM Ranchi has established itself as one of the premier finance institutions of the country as various global as well as national financial behemoths came to recruit from the campus this year. A France based firm chose to hire exclusively from IIM Ranchi for its coveted front end Investment Banking profile based out of Mumbai. Profiles offered: Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Retail Product Banking, Credit Analysis, Investment Research, Project Finance, Securities and Fund Services Management and Hedge Fund Analyst. Prominent Recruiters: J P Morgan Chase, Citi, HSBC, Yes Bank, Crisil, CCIL, Credit Agricole, ICRA, CARE Ratings, ICICI Bank, HDFC Sales & Marketing: IIM Ranchi has been performing exceptionally well in Sales and Marketing and attracted several top marketing companies in the final placements. Companies from several prominent sectors such as FMCG, Automobile, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Banking, Consumer Durables and Media recruited students in high numbers. Gauging the potential of students, big names such as KPMG, Fidelity, Cognizant, HP recruited from IIM Ranchi in huge numbers. Many companies also offered PPOs to students based on their brilliant performance during summer internship. Profiles Offered: Consultant, IT Consultant, Business Development Manager, Business Analyst, and Account Manager. Prominent Recruiters: KPMG, Mu-Sigma, Wipro, Cognizant, Hewlett Packard, Latent View, Hitachi Solutions, Aranca, Fidelity Investments, HCL,Tech Mahindra IT, Consulting, Analytics 7. General Management, Strategy & Operations: With 76% of the batch possessing prior work experience, IIM Ranchi attracted roles in General Management and Operations. Indofil offered the niche role of Strategy Manager as well as Executive Assistant to CEO to some of the students. Similarly, Mahindra offered the elite GMC role to select students. Several Leadership Programs were also offered by top firms in the Power Sector. Final Placements PGDHRM : IIM Ranchi is the first and only IIM to introduce dedicated course in Human Resource management (PGDHRM). The pioneer batch of 38 students has performed exceptionally well to achieve quality placements. After an impressive feedback from the corporates for the performance during first ever HR Summer internships, more than % of the batch got Pre-Placement Offers/Interviews. Some of the students were even offered General Management profiles from top conglomerates. One of the students also got an opportunity to work for one of their most sought after Leadership Programs. Sectors such as Banking and Financial Services, Power and Steel, Retail, Technology and Public Sector have shown their intent in hiring HR s in sizeable numbers. Profiles Offered: Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Relationship Manager, Corporate HR, HR Business Partner, HR Operations, Employee Relations and Market Intelligence were among select few that were offered creating a dynamic portfolio of roles for the budding Human Resource managers.
