METHODOLOGY Data was predicted from 2014 to 2019 to calculate the projected number of annual job openings. These projections take into account openings related to job growth and openings due to replacement needs. Regional definitions conform to the U.S. Census Bureau s norms. In order to capture a complete picture of industry employment, data was integrated from economic, labor market, demographic, and education data from over 90 government and private-sector sources, creating a comprehensive and current database that includes both published data and detailed estimates with full coverage of the United States. Specifically, data covered employment data from Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW-produced by the Department of Labor), with total employment data in the Regional Economic Information System (REISpublished by the Bureau of Economic Analysis or BEA). This is augmented with County Business Patterns (CBP) and Non-Employer Statistics (NES) published by the U.S. Census Bureau. Projections are based on the latest-available industry data, 15-year past local trends in each industry, growth rates in statewide and sub-state area industry projections published by individual state agencies (where available), and growth rates in national projections from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Through this combination, gaps in sources were filled (such as suppressions and missing proprietors). This yields a composite database that leverages the strengths of all its sources. Data within this report represents first and second quarter 2015 results. *This data was compiled in partnership with EMSI and CareerBuilder. 7 SUPERIOR GROUP
