2 Foreword The Placement Committee of IIM Shillong takes immense pride in announcing the successful completion of summer placement season for the PGP batch of The stellar performance by the PGP participants stands testimony to the rapid progress made by IIM Shillong and has once again established IIM Shillong as the preferred choice for recruiters. We express our gratitude to our regular recruiters who have continuously put their faith in the mettle of our students and have furthered their association with us for another year to facilitate this mutually beneficial relationship. We are also grateful to our new recruiters, who have acknowledged the potential of our students and provided them with a plethora of opportunities. The placement season saw participation from a total of 54 recruiters and 196 offers were made to the participants in various domains such as Sales & Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, Consulting, IT & Analytics and Finance. IIM Shillong hosted some of the biggest names in the industry, including Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, BPCL, Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte USI, Droom, Fidelity Investments, Google, GroupM, HSBC Bank, ICICI Bank, ITC, JSW Group, Metlife, Muthoot Fincorp, Nomura Investment Bank, RBL Bank, ShopClues, TAFE, TATA Motors, TATA Steel, Titan, UltraTech Cement, Value Labs, VMWare and Yes Bank as prominent regular recruiters. The institute also saw participation of several first time recruiters including AB InBev, Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Finserv, Cipla, DE Shaw, Emami, Freudenberg, GMM Pfaudler, Goldman Sachs, HDFC Bank, Henkel, Maruti Suzuki, Pidilite, Shahi Exports, TATA Capital, TIW Private Equity, UB Group and Xiaomi. 6 Domain Highlights SALES & MARKETING Sales & Marketing continued to be the most sought after domain, accounting for 38% of the total offers received. Recruiters such as Amazon, BPCL, Droom, Google, GroupM, ITC, TAFE, TATA Motors, TATA Steel, Titan and UltraTech Cement continued to bestow their faith in the acumen of the participants and recruited in large numbers. Bajaj Finserv, Cipla, Cyber Infrastructure, Emami, Freudenberg, GMM Pfaudler, Henkel, Maruti Suzuki, Pidilite, UB Group and Xiaomi were amongst the first time recruiters. Amazon, Pidilite and Tata Steel made the highest number of offers. 3,00,000 Consulting and General Management saw an increase in the number of offers, with 22% of the batch opting for this domain. Various roles offered included Advisory, Business Development, Corporate Strategy and Strategy & Operations. Aditya Birla Group, Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte USI, JSW Group, Metlife, Muthoot Fincorp, TATA Steel, VMWare and Zaggle continued their association with the institute, offering coveted profiles to students while first time recruiters include Ab InBev, Apollo Hospitals, Fynd, GMM Pfaudler and Xiaomi. 2,40,000 GENERAL MANAGEMENT AND CONSULTING 06

7 Domain Highlights Finance IIM Shillong has always been a preferred campus for recruiters offering roles in the Finance domain. 19% of the participants received offers in roles such as Corporate & Institutional Banking, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Private Equity and Retail Banking amongst others. Adqvest Capital, Angel Broking, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank, Goldman Sachs and TIW Private Equity partnered with the institution for the first time. Our regular recruiters such as HSBC Bank, ICICI Bank, Nomura Investment Bank, RBL Bank and Yes Bank continued to recruit in large numbers. HDFC Bank made the highest number of offers in this domain. 2,40,000 Operations domain witnessed participation from distinguished companies like Amazon, ShopClues, Tata Steel and VMWare who maintained their alliance with the institution and offered prominent roles. Bajaj Finserv, GoMechanic, Metlife, Shahi Exports, Shree Cement and UltraTech Cement, spanning across Automobile, BFSI, E-Commerce, IT & Analytics, Manufacturing and Retail sectors, visited for campus placements for the first time. The season witnessed 60% increase in the number of offers made in this domain. 1,40,000 OPERATIONS 07

8 Domain Highlights IT & Analytics domain witnessed participation from a host of recruiters including Fidelity Investments, ShopClues, TATA Capital, ValueLabs and Xiaomi. Diverse roles such as Business Analytics & Research and New Product Development were offered with 65% increase in the highest stipend offered in this domain. IT & Analytics 2,00,000 The Human Resources domain observed increased participation from recruiters including DE Shaw, Muthoot Fincorp, TATA Motors, Titan and UltraTech Cement from various sectors such as BFSI, Manufacturing and Retail.
