2 At European level, EURES is: A co-operation network formed by public employment services in 32 countries (the 28 members of the European Union, plus Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland) specially trained European Employment Counsellors (EURES Advisors) European databank of employment opportunities. Over 1 million jobs available throughout Europe ( Established in 1993 by the European Commission to assist the free movement of workers between the EU/ EEA countries.

3 EURES = EURopean Employment Services Principle Functions: Promote mobility in the European Labour Market Provide European wide matching and placement service for employers Provide employers with information on all aspects of European recruitment Provide jobseekers/jobchangers with placement opportunities in Europe including pre-departure and on-arrival advice and counselling on working abroad.

8 Experience your Europe (EYE) EURES Experience Your Europe (EYE) programme aims at helping young jobseekers to remove the barriers in finding work or training opportunities in Europe and can provide financial support towards travel to an interview, re-location, language training costs etc. There are three options promoted under the EYE programme: 1. Co-Sponsored Placement Programme (aimed at jobseekers aged 18-30) 2. Your First EURES Job (aimed at jobseekers aged 18-35) 3. Reactivate (aimed at jobseekers over 35) More information on:

9 The Co- Sponsored Placement Programme Jobseekers between the ages 18-30, can be co- sponsored by EURES Ireland and an Employer to take up a work placement in another European country for up to 12 months. 10 Your First EURES Job European job mobility scheme which offers financial support to workers (between of age) and financial supports to Employers (SMEs) For Jobseekers/jobchangers: - financial support for a job interview in another EU country ( ) - financial support for moving abroad to take up a new job ( ) - Language courses (e.g. German language courses) For employers: - financial support to cover part of the cost of training newly recruited workers and helping them settle in

11 EURES "REACTIVATE" Intra-EU job mobility scheme for unemployed 35+ "Reactivate" aims to be a pilot extension of YFEJ scheme Start date: 31 st January in 2017 Direct financial support available for the 35+ age group (unemployed only ), including: a) job interview trip b) country relocation including for family members (spouse and children) c) language training d) recognition of qualifications
