1 Second announcement Dear Colleagues and Friends, Heartiest greetings from the Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College, Surat. On behalf of the Organizing committee, it gives us immense pleasure to invite you all to the Joint Annual Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine- Gujarat Chapter and Indian Association of Public Health-Gujarat Chapter, being jointly organized by the Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College, Surat and IPHA Gujarat Chapter on 7 th and 8 th December, It will be preceded by pre-conference workshop on 6 th December, 2017 in the fourth fastest growing city of the world- Surat, which is also known as the Diamond and Silk city of Gujarat. The conference will offer a great opportunity to discuss important public health issues, exchange knowledge and share ideas. We expect several new initiatives and robust solutions to follow the conference, leading to effective action that would be of great benefit to the people and also to the policy makers of the state. The main theme for the conference is SDG Opportunities and Challenges in Gujarat and the subtheme is Innovative practices to minimize gaps in immunization. 8 Call for abstract submission Instructions to the authors for abstract submission for the Joint Annual Conference of IAPSMGC and IPHAGC 2017 Abstract for Oral/ Poster presentations should reach to the Scientific Committee through in the prescribed format mentioned below. The maximum word limit for the abstract must be restricted to 250 words. Last date for abstract submission is 31 st October Presenting author s name should be underlined. Abstracts should be typed in Times New Roman font size 12 for matter, size 14 for title and with single line spacing, left justified margins. The authors selected for oral presentation would be provided 6 minutes for presentation followed by 2 minutes for discussion. The space allotted for poster presentation would be 90cm X 60cm.
