It s easy to create your own opportunities and events to get others involved, too. How To Do It Go to the Volunteer tab on your dashboard and click Create a Volunteer Opportunity. Complete the form to create your opportunity. Use Form Navigation to quickly move back and forth on the page. 1. Basic Info Opportunity Name The name should motivate people to find out more. Make it enticing! Opportunity Summary In a few words, say what you re trying to accomplish and how. Opportunity Description Give details about the opportunity, including the goal, why it s important, and the impact participants will be making. Keep it short and cover the important points (who, what, why, how). Select the Enable Rich Text checkbox to embed links or video content. Use the Good for Kids or Team Event checkboxes to provide more information for people searching for Volunteer Opportunities. 2. Attach Cause If your event is for a specific cause (i.e. nonprofit organization) associate it with your opportunity. Use the search field to find the cause, click +Add and it will appear on the Volunteer Opportunity information page. 3. Add an Image A compelling image will help attract attention. Click Browse, select your image following the file guidelines provided on the page, and click Upload. Crop your image by resizing or moving the selection under Crop area. This is what will display on the Volunteer Opportunity page. Delete this image and start over by clicking Remove. 4. Location Where is this opportunity taking place? Provide an address and directions to make sure volunteers will find it. Enter the Address for the Opportunity: Provide the full address so the system can find it on the map. This field will not accept an invalid address. Add Location Notes: Add notes relating to the location (e.g., directions, transportation, meeting spot, parking information). If your opportunity is happening in more than one location (e.g., multiple cities) select the checkbox This opportunity has multiple locations.
