2 Greetings: The Inaugural California Association of Black School Educators (CABSE) Conference demonstrated the level of energy, passion and collaboration necessary to achieve our vision of educational equity. For the first time, we brought together the various pillars of the education community elected board members and administrators from charter schools, community colleges and school districts along with instructors from all levels; the synergistic result was incredible to witness. The exchange of ideas underscored the common theme uniting us all a complete dedication to helping the under-served and disadvantaged children in our communities. Every single attendee understood what so many across the nation do not that our black youth represent the single largest segment of locked potential in America today. At our next convening, we will continue to focus on unlocking this potential so our youth can thrive. The 2nd Annual CABSE Conference will take place October 18-20, 2018 at the US Grant Hotel in San Diego, CA. The conference theme will be, Transforming K-14 Education Systems through Equity and Career Pathways. By working together as a cohesive whole, we can once-and-for-all achieve our shared goal of eliminating the socio-economic achievement gap that has plagued our students and communities for far too long.
