10 HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2017 Key moments and successes from this year s show Smart Cities 2017 theme This year MEE focused on the theme of Smart Cities, supported by our partners Dubai Municipality & ECAT. Visitors experienced features and a dedicated conference based on the future of energy supply in urban environments. VIP Programme This year we brought a group of highprofile VIP executives from government utilities across the Middle East to MEE for a series of pre-scheduled meetings with our exhibitors. Launched a new, product focused floorplan For 2017 we redesigned the layout of the event to focus on specific product sectors, with the vision of offering a more efficient event experience for all attendees - ensuring exhibitors & visitors could connect more easily. Contractors' Meeting Programme We invited contractors from across the region to attend MEE and take advantage of a pre-scheduled diary of meetings with our Power Generation exhibitors. Introduced our new brand to the industry in person With a new logo and our tag line 'Energising the Industry', we introduced visitors to a new look, easy to navigate event - divided into four main product sectors, Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Lighting and Solar. Organised the largest Future Generation competition yet Future Generation encourages engineering students to showcase energy related projects for the chance to win an award. This year we held a second competition for post-graduate students with submissions open to the whole GCC.
