49 CAHP Program Process FAQs - 1 Frequently Asked Questions Q: How much money will I get? A: Per home incentives vary greatly from as little as $100 to as much as $10,000 in cases seen thus far. Compliance margin is the most important indicator, but climate zone, home size and particular energy features contribute to the variance as well. To date, the program average is ~$1,300 per home. With a compliance average of 26.9% above Title 24. Q: How do I calculate my incentive? A: The incentive per home is calculated using CEC approved software for compliance energy modeling, (either Energy Pro or Micropas). For production homes, the incentive will vary with orientation. The incentive is calculated on the Util-1R or ACR forms. Q: Who is my Utility Representative? (from the field on the CAHP application) A: In PG&E territory, this can be listed as HMG Q: Where do I submit an application? A: In PG&E territory, submit to HMG (not PG&E): digital is preferred - CAHP@h-m-g.com Or Heschong Mahone Group, Gold Country Blvd. #103 Gold River, CA 95670
50 CAHP Program Process FAQs - 2 Frequently Asked Questions Q: What is PG&E proof of service and why do I need it? A: Proof of service is any document issued by PG&E showing that the project address is or will be receiving gas and/or electric service from the utility. This includes an account statement, a will-serve letter or a service application. PG&E will only incentivize commodities that they supply to the project address. As a 3 rd party implementer, HMG does not have access to PG&E s database to determine if gas or electricity is supplied. Q: What if my site only receives either gas or electric from PG&E but not both? A: If the other commodity is supplied by one of the other participating statewide IOUs, PG&E will process and pay your entire CAHP incentive, then work with the other IOU to appropriately share the costs and savings from your project. If the other commodity is not a participating IOU (SMUD, MID,TID or other municipal utilities), PG&E will adjust your base incentive to only include the commodities supplied by PG&E. Percentage based kickers will also be reduced.
51 CAHP Program Process FAQs - 3 Frequently Asked Questions Q: How are casitas handled? A: A detached residential living area (e.g. casita) must meet all program requirements, but is not eligible for an incentive, nor does it contribute to the incentive of the primary residence on the property. An energy model and building plans need to be supplied and are subject to plan review. Q: Does HMG have information regarding my New Solar Homes Program (NSHP) application? A: No. NSHP is administered internally by PG&E. NSHP and CAHP are separate and distinct programs. A project may enroll and receive incentives from both, and the two programs coordinate plan review. However, HMG does not have any specific application or administration information regarding NSHP.
