2 ENACTUS MCGILL SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE ABOUT ENACTUS MCGILL ABOUT ENACTUS MCGILL Enactus McGill is a group of talented and motivated students from McGill University striving to make a difference in their community and improving the quality of life through entrepreneurial action. This organisation is composed of students representing all faculties within McGill University. We strive to create a long-term impact on the communities and businesses that we are involved with. Whether it be by providing education to Syrian refugees, coaching young students to become entrepreneurs or empowering the homeless with their recycling business, our projects reach a diverse community both locally and nationally. Our 6 projects targets individuals of all ages, background and ethnicity and address the needs of education, social sustainability and entrepreneurship. Every year, we travel to the Regional and National Competitions where we compete against 50 teams from across Canada and showcase our work to our country s top CEOs serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious Enactus World Cup to experience excellence in competition, collaboration and celebration. 3 ABOUT ENACTUS MCGILL OUR SUCCESS AS A TEAM Enactus Canada competitions provide an opportunity for Enactus teams to present the outcomes of their social empowerment projects. At regional and national competitions, students demonstrate how their projects and business ventures are shaping the economic, social and environmental landscape of Canada. Rounds of live presentation-based competition, with business executives serving as judges, determine which Enactus team and student entrepreneur will become this year s National Champions. This team then advances to represent Canada at the Enactus World Cup, where 32 teams from all around the world compete for the coveted title of Enactus World Champion. Tutoring for Syrian refugees in a camp in Greece. Our tutors teach English to students there via Skype, with the hope of them passing their exams and getting scholarships to Canadian universities. Seeks to bring together and recognize green-oriented businesses to support a culture of sustainability and environmental consciousness. Aims to help revolutionize the way business is done in the Montreal community and beyond. Seeks to eliminate food waste by transporting leftover food from various restaurants, organizations and groups to those who need it. Curbside recycling operated by those impoverished. Quickly becoming a known service in Montreal and expanding across Canada. Providing career and integration resources to Syrian refugees in Montreal.

4 STUDENTS FOR SYRIA Integration in the workforce TARGETED NUMBER OF SYRIAN REFUGEES IMPACTED 15 ANTICIPATED NUMBER OF COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS AND STAKEHOLDERS DIRECTLY ENGAGED volunteers, 10 refugees, 19 Enactus Executives, 2 professors, 2 faculty / business advisors MEALCARE The latest project addition to Enactus McGill is PreReq (formerly Students for Syria), an inspirational group aiming to give Syrian refugees the chance at life that every human deserves. This project aims to solve the need that Syrian refugees have for better integration in the workforce upon arriving to Montreal. Our project will allow them to have more and better paying job opportunities, jobs that reflect their career experience, whilst also facilitating their integration in society. We will empower them to go beyond a survival state and thrive here in Montreal. Through a mentoring program with MBA students, we will help them overcome various barriers such as paperwork, lack of connections and of knowledge of the Canadian labor market, and lack of certification transfer, we will aim to connect Syrians with further resources (i.e. language tutoring for parents and kids) and thrive here in Montreal. WHAT WE NEED In order to continue reaching as many Syrian refugees in Montreal, we need your help! 1 1

5 OPPORTUTORING Certified English lessons At about strong, Montreal has the largest Syrian community in Canada. The city has taken in a large part of the Syrian refugees who have arrived in Quebec since the beginning of 2015, and will play a large role in welcoming another refugees in the months to come. However, upon arrival these refugees struggle to find work due to language problems. Thus, the refugees are not being given work involving speaking with clients or working with others. In Quebec there is no government sponsored English language program. Our project, will provide language classes supervised by certified language professors to 15 Syrian refugees here in Montreal. We will provide each of them with learning material, in addition to having 2 to 3 student volunteers meet with them a few times a week. They will take a ACTFL certified language test both at the beginning and the end of the program to measure their progress, with the projected outcome being that they reach a Effective operational proficiency level. TARGETED NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IMPACTED 40 ANTICIPATED NUMBER OF COMMUNITY PARTICIPANTS AND STAKEHOLDERS DIRECTLY ENGAGED tutors (volunteers) 4-5 Enactus leaders 2 Faculty advisors 8-10 Students 2 students on a full scholarship at Concordia OPPORTUTORING WHAT WE NEED As our program tries to reach a high standard in tutoring, we need to secure a strong teaching program that will accommodate any student needs and that can help them achieve their academic goals. Furthermore, will need funding to go meet the students in Greece and Turkey to meet the students and provide a more complete learning program.

6 YOUTHSTART YOUTHSTART Fostering future entrepreneurs. WHO WE ARE: YouthStart is a non-profit initiative that jumpstarts the entrepreneurship road for local Montreal high-school students, teaching and fostering the skills of the trade. OUR MISSION IS to teach Montreal high school students the knowledge and skills required for a successful startup. This includes: TARGETED NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS 60 students from 3 schools in Business skills workshops on launching a product, raising capital, estimating risk, and more. 2. Helping and teaching students how to begin and develop their own individual product idea. 3. Providing a monetary start-up fund as a competitive prize at the end to the best idea and presentation, along with individual one-on-one mentoring to make the idea a success. THE HANDS ON TEAM 14+: 8 Project leaders 6-9 Teachers OUR VISION IS to make YouthStart a standardized top-tier program in high schools across Montreal. To achieve this goal, we need your help to: 1. Develop monetary funds to create the curriculum, acquire needed materials, and fund the start-up prizes. 2. Bring together professionals from reputable companies share their entrepreneurial expertise, collaborating in making the curriculum and teaching the students.

7 SUSTAIN WHO WE ARE Sustain, a student-initiated project striving for a more sustainable local economy. Responsibility via environmental audits OUR MISSION Providing free consulting to Montreal small and medium size companies to: 1- Inform them of the importance and benefits of sustainability: how they can reduce their costs, obtain government grants, and gain a significant competitive advantage by adopting sustainable practices. 2- Assist them to better assess their environmental impact and develop a clear sustainability strategy in synergy with our environmental advisers. 3- After necessary changes have been made, certify these businesses with a sticker to put on their glass and welcome them in our green businesses network The underlying strategy is to build a network of like-minded businesses sharing eco-friendly endeavors in an increasingly green Montreal economy. HOW CAN YOU HELP? We are currently looking for funds to professionalize our approach and extend our organisational resources. In addition, we are actively looking for sponsors to help us to go compete in Vancouver as part of the 2017 Enactus national competition.
