1 An Invitation to Participate in Patrick Grace Executive Director The Catholic Community Foundation is pleased to announce that we will once again be hosting #wegivecatholic, Northeast Ohio s online day of Catholic Giving, on Tuesday, November 28, Our goal is to build on the results of 2016 in which we not only highlighted the incredible work of Catholic organizations throughout the region, but also raised $414,199 for 157 participating organizations. Today, I invite you and your organization to join in this 24-hour giving event -- to share our gifts and return them with increase to the Lord. This year we will be partnering with a new giving day platform provider, which offers enhanced features that will make your experience and that of your donors even more streamlined. In addition, there will be a process in place this year to accept off-line gifts, making it easier for smaller and urban parishes, schools and nonprofits to participate. Giving days continue to be attractive to a broad range of parishioners, alumni, and supporters from individuals in their 20 s through their 70 s and beyond. In addition: Giving days attract new and younger supporters. Last year, nearly 2/3 of #wegivecatholic donors identified themselves as first-time donors, with $86 as the average online gift. #wegivecatholic will engage and inspire your staff, your volunteers, and your supporters as you spread the word about your good works and giving goals. #wegivecatholic provides amplified impact by participating with the larger Catholic community in Northeast Ohio. We believe in the generosity of Catholics in our Diocese and have set a goal this year of collectively raising $500,000 in a 24-hour period. To generate excitement, the Catholic Community Foundation is committed to raising $50,000 in advance of the giving day to provide incentives that are leveraged to increase your organization s level of participation and success. Please review the enclosed #wegivecatholic packet that includes important information for this year s event. Then, go to wegivecatholic.org and register this is the first step in launching your online giving day. As always, we are here to help guide you every step of the way, providing training and the marketing materials you need to be successful. We are excited to continue this journey of raising awareness of Catholic philanthropy and attracting new supporters with you.
2 ABOUT 1 ABOUT NORTHEAST OHIO S ONLINE DAY OF CATHOLIC GIVING! Jesus teaches us another way: Go out. Go out and share your testimony, go out and interact with your brothers, go out and share, go out and ask. Become the Word in body as well as spirit. Pope Francis To celebrate the great community of Catholics in Northeast Ohio, the Catholic Community Foundation is hosting the second annual day of Catholic Giving on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, also known as Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving. Secure, tax-deductible donations will be accepted on wegivecatholic.org during a 24-hour period, and participating Catholic parishes, schools, Catholic Charities sites/programs, and other Catholic nonprofits affiliated with the Diocese of Cleveland will be eligible to receive prizes offered by the Catholic Community Foundation and its partners. THE GOAL OF #WEGIVECATHOLIC We believe in the generosity of Catholics throughout the Diocese of Cleveland. The goal of the #wegivecatholic Giving Day is to inspire our Catholic community to come together by leveraging collective support for organizations that shape our souls: our parishes, schools, Catholic Charities sites/programs and Catholic nonprofits. The Catholic Community Foundation s goal is to deliver $500,000 to our local Catholic organizations in a 24-hour period. WHY HOST A DAY OF CATHOLIC GIVING ON #GIVINGTUESDAY? We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for purchasing gifts for loved ones Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, November 28, 2017, individuals and organizations around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. We at The Catholic Community Foundation know that, for Catholics, generosity and giving have a profound meaning. As children of God, giving is the ultimate expression of mercy as we feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give shelter to the homeless and preserve our Catholic heritage for future generations. Compelled to action by our shared faith, #wegivecatholic is the Catholic Community Foundation s gift to the community.
3 ABOUT 2 HOW DOES IT WORK?
