2 2 Who We Are 3 About Injaz Egypt INJAZ Egypt delivers experiential learning in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship, effectively enriching the ability of young people to both engage in their own economic development and contribute to the strength of their communities and economies Donors INJAZ has been working in Egypt for more than a decade to promote the skills of employability and to promote entrepreneurship among Egypt s chronically unemployed youth. Partnering with business and educational institutions across the country, INJAZ supplements school curricula with programs designed to build the capacity and realize the potential of students and young graduates. 3 4 Who We Are 5 About INJAZ Egypt INJAZ Egypt is a member nation of Junior Achievement (JA); the world s largest and fastest growing organization specializing in economic education. INJAZ Egypt is also part of the regional network INJAZ Al-Arab, which harnesses the mentorship of Arab business leaders to help inspire a culture of entrepreneurialism and business innovation among Arab youth throughout 14 countries in the MENA region. JA Global Footprint The 122-country JA Worldwide network is powered by 4,325,523 volunteers and mentors from all sectors of society and reaches more than 10.2 million students worldwide in 151,820 schools. Europe INJAZ Egypt Impact Damietta Port Said Alexandria Kafr El-Sheikh Behira Sharkeya Menoufia Dakahlya Qalyobeya Ismailia North Sinai Giza Cairo Helwan Suez Fayoum Beni Suef Menia Red Sea Assiut 480,000+ students 208 Public Schools 25 universities United States Middle East & North Africa Asia Pacific Sohag Qena 47 startups Americas New Valley Luxor Africa 122-nation network; more than 10 million youth served in 2015 Aswan 4,700+ Volunteers

4 6 Who We Are 7 Generation Jobless The MENA region has the highest youth unemployment in the world The level of youth unemployment is projected to increase over the coming five years, according to Generation Jobless: The Challenge of Global Youth Unemployment report published by JA Worldwide and funded by the Citi Foundation. Beyond the obvious economic impact, high youth unemployment levels are a major force behind social unrest and personal degradation. The consequences of inadequate action for the future of youth and society are alarming. Five basic strategies must be pursued: Boost job creation and labor demand Better prepare young people for the job market Illuminate the pathways to productive work Improve current and long-term financial wellbeing Foster entrepreneurship Egypt s economy and future stability rely on the participation of its youth. In order to bolster their success and, in turn, the nation s, the gap between education and employability must be bridged. Recent research indicates that 29% of Egypt s youth are unemployed. Young Egyptians lack the skills essential to successful careers and futures because entrepreneurship, leadership and professional skills training, critical thinking and problem solving are absent from today s school curricula. Source: Generation Jobless: The Challenge of Global Youth Unemployment 2014 The scale and magnitude of the problem demands a redoubling of the efforts of all involved. And while the problem is global, the solutions must be local.
