10 CITY OF VANCOUVER SOCIAL SERVICES SMALL CAPITAL GRANT PROGRAM Target Areas: planning and minor capital Supports: 50% of total project cost related to renovations/upgrades, construction, expansion, pre-planning and feasibility studies, movable expenses (up to 15% of project cost) if linked to a broader renovation. Maximum funding: $10,000-15,000 per project Eligibility: Vancouver based registered non-profit societies, community service co-ops or charities registered with CRA and that provide social services Deadline: 1x annually in the fall Application: Online guidelines and application form Assessment: Staff review against published criteria

12 CENTRAL CITY FOUNDATION CAPITAL GRANTS PROGRAM Target Areas: small capital projects including grants to support construction, renovation and equipment purchases Supports: organizations improving lives in Vancouver s inner city with a focus on urgent needs, children & youth and community transformation Maximum funding: $30,000 Eligibility: Vancouver based registered charities or other qualified donees Deadline: March 15 and September 15 for Letters of Intent Application: Online guidelines. Applicants must inquire with CCF staff for eligibility, submit a Letter of Intent if eligible then applications are by invitation. Assessment: Central City Foundation Projects Committee/Board of Directors
13 CENTRAL CITY FOUNDATION SOCIAL PURPOSE REAL ESTATE PROJECTS 40% of capital invested in social purpose real estate that supports innovative organizations that are improving lives in our community 5 social purpose real estate properties in BC that provide secure tenure and subsidized leases for low income housing, health & family services, an Indigenous-focused daycare, addiction and mental health treatment for youth & young adults and social enterprise. 14 CANADIAN HERITAGE CANADA CULTURAL SPACES FUND Target Areas: Western Region priorities include co-location projects, projects in communities where the program has not previously invested, projects from or supporting Indigenous communities, projects from or supporting Official Language minority communities, and projects that support sectoral innovation and new ways of working. Western Region comprises BC, Alberta and the Yukon. Supports: Construction/renovation, specialized equipment, feasibility studies Maximum funding: Up to 50% of eligible costs Eligibility: Not-for-profit arts and/or heritage organizations operating in a professional manner, provincial/territorial governments and municipal administrations and their agencies or equivalent Indigenous institutions or organizations that have historically demonstrated their support to professional artistic or heritage activities in their communities. Deadline: Continuous intake Application: Guidelines and application form available on PCH website at All prospective applicants must contact their nearest Department of Canadian Heritage office before completing an application.
15 CANADIAN HERITAGE CANADA CULTURAL SPACES FUND Assessment: Applications are assessed and prioritized by departmental staff based on the following criteria: Availability and quality of spaces Access to professional arts and heritage experiences Viability of project and long-term financial impact on organization All recommendations exceeding $75,000 are subject to approval by the Minister of Canadian Heritage. Notable for: Increased funding in and as part of the Government of Canada s commitment to social infrastructure. The Western Region CCSF budget for is $30,447,388, which has been expensed in full on 75 projects ranging from $3,500 to $5 million.
