2 The Beginning of the Partnership The partnership began with a coalition of Western State DOTs from California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah who will continue to lead our transportation infrastructure delivery for decades to come. 2
3 The Vision The I-15 Corridor System Master Plan will: Define a multi-decade multimodal transportation system Provide a prioritized program of projects that make up the system Create a governance structure and implementation strategy to sustain and improve this system This vision is defined by a regional partnership between government and private interests in Nevada, California, Arizona, and Utah the I-15 Mobility Alliance This vision is sustained by a unified alliance focused on I-15 s long term regional and global competitiveness 3

5 What did we set out to accomplish? Mobility Multimodal corridor that significantly increases mobility of people and goods through highways, freight rail, transit and high-speed passenger rail Sustainability Accommodate potential future shifts in, and sustainability of, travel patterns, mode choice, population, and technology Adaptability Incorporate advanced technologies for the transport of energy, data and communications 5
6 What we actually accomplished Created an Alliance with 72 member agencies (over 450 folks) collaborating/cooperating like never before Identified 27 Immediate Projects of Inter-regional Significance ENDORSED unanimously Created a searchable GIS database of regional data and project information using UDOT s UPlan platform Created 16 mode and topicspecific Technical Reports Published in Engineering News Record Prioritized 10 years worth of projects by impact to interregional mobility and time stratified 40+ years of needs along the corridor Endorsed 4 TIGER 3 Grant applications (3 in CA and 1 in AZ) Jointly submitted a Multistate Corridor Operations and Management Federal Grant proposal Developed the Master Plan 6 6

By creating buy-in to the vision, process, and benefits of this effort, we were able to: Garner broad support for individual projects along the corridor Agreement on corridor-wide initiatives to move forward. Interest and support for sustaining the Alliance commitment of $ & time 12
13 Focus on Common Interests: Create Future Opportunities Together Deliver the I-15 Dynamic Mobility Project Link traffic management centers along the entire corridor Provide real-time traveler information via web, message boards, mobile devices, etc. Create a sustainable institutional structure for the Alliance Improve and enhance the I-15 Corridor System Master Plan through partner and stakeholder input 13
