10 Summary Report of 2014 APTS 200 participants from 10 member economies joined this event Research of extreme weather (e.g., TC) are conducted from different aspects (scientifically and operationally). The Engineering for Climate Extremes Partnership is a multidisciplinary collaboration in support of planning and response actions, aimed at providing advanced tools for disaster prevention/mitigation, increasing community resiliency, thus reducing impacts of extreme weather events. Extreme weather such as drought, storm, and flood may increase due to the changing climate. Better understanding, preparedness, and response will be the key elements to live with the nature. Among APEC MEs, threats from natural disaster possess similarity and discrepancy. All available forecast outputs, technologies, and knowledge should be collected and shared.
