3 Elgin Business Resource Centre (EBRC) Community-based, non-profit organization overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors Offers a full range of business support resources to the residents & small business owners of St. Thomas/Elgin County It is staffed by business professionals who encourage entrepreneurship and the pursuit of economic opportunities Mission: To provide business resources, and to be a catalyst in strengthening our communities
4 EBRC Programs Access to Capital Loans - CFDC Lender of Last Resort Leverage to Commercial Lender Loans up to $150,000 Continual Counselling No pay out fees In 2010, Elgin CFDC loaned out $3,357,000 to 35 businesses Loan Program initially funded by Federal Government
5 EBRC Programs SEB /OW Self Employment Benefits Program Summer Company YEP Youth Entrepreneurship Partnership EBRC Mentorship Program Individuals EI eligible or have received EI within the last three to five years Youth Business Opportunity (Age 15-29) Must be Returning to School Youth under the age of 29 who are not in school Youth, entrepreneurs, small business owners, mature workers, business leaders This community service program allows participants to continue receiving EI benefits while they get their businesses up and running.
