1 2016 ELIGIBILITY GENERAL OVERVIEW FOR ALL AWARDS The eligibility period for the 2016 Prix MNB Awards is January 1, 2015, to May 20, 2016, inclusive. All entrants must be Music Musique NB (MNB) members at time of application to be considered eligible. If you are unsure of your membership status, please contact Dawn before beginning your award entry. Eligible entrants must have lived in New Brunswick during the full eligibility period, unless stated otherwise. For groups, at least fifty (50%) percent of members must have lived in New Brunswick during the full eligibility period. Any mention of Artist in this document refers to solo artists or groups. Instrumental recordings are eligible to apply for all relevant categories. Compilations are ineligible for nomination. In any category, if more than three (3) eligible entries are received in both official languages, the category will be considered open in both languages and will be renamed to reflect the split. If two categories of similar styles both have an insufficient number of eligible entries, the Prix MNB Awards committee will consider combining categories and will do so at their own discretion. If eligible, each entrant may apply to any number of General Music Awards and/or Industry Awards. However, each entrant may select only one (1) Genre Specific Music Award. If a submitted recording falls within the eligibility period for two years, it may be submitted both years provided it has not already been previously nominated. This applies to both general and genre specific categories. When there are fewer than the minimum required eligible submissions for any category, an entrant may resubmit the following year, provided they still fit the eligibility criteria.
2 2 The Prix MNB Awards Committee reserves the right to ask clarifying questions and to revoke any entries or nominations at any time if it is discovered that an entrant has not met any of the eligibility requirements. For all awards, a nomination may be made on behalf of an individual, business or group. However, all eligibility criteria must still be met. Upon receiving an nomination made on behalf of an individual, business or group, the Prix MNB Awards Committee will contact the party in question to confirm their details, eligibility and willingness to accept the nomination made on their behalf. All submission requirements must be met. Incomplete entries will not be accepted. Any occurrences of questionable eligibility will be dealt with at the discretion of the Prix MNB Awards Committee. No refunds will be given for ineligible entries or entries made to categories which do not open. DEADLINE Entries must be filled out online and received by MNB by 4:00PM (Atlantic) on May 20 th For all categories in which a recording is being considered, a physical copy must be sent to the MNB office (140 Botsford Street, Suite 9, Moncton NB, E1C 4X5), postmarked no later than May 20 th If the recording was released only online, a download code must be provided. JURY Chosen by the Prix MNB Awards Committee, panels of jurors are selected from professionals across Canada to ensure a fair and unbiased process. Each juror is required to sign a conflict of interest form as well as identify any potential conflicts when adjudicating. If there is a conflict of interest, the juror s scores will not be counted towards the entry. In the case where there is a tie in the jury process to determine the nominations, the category will allow for both tied entries to go to voting. Each category is considered open and included in the jurying process once a minimum of three (3) eligible entries have been received. Three (3) to five (5) nominations will be selected, based on the jury evaluation process. Please note that MNB Staff are excluded from being jurors for the Prix MNB Awards juries and are not involved in choosing nominees or winners.
3 3 GENERAL MUSIC AWARDS Entrants may submit for any number of general Music Awards.
