10 Incubator Acceptance Criteria Our revised acceptance criteria are listed in priority: Any CSU- generated start-up company whose needs are consistent with the space within the RIC incubator and they meet due diligence regarding their basic business model. Non- CSU start-up companies who are good partners based on their desire and need to interact with researchers and utilize capabilities within the CSU domain. As expected, companies involved in infectious diseases will have the highest priority in this category although this is not required. Non- CSU companies who do not have any interactions with CSU but whose presence are a strategic fit for the IDRC mission. To a large degree we have tested this criteria over the last 18 months and this has resulted in 90-95% occupancy rate for that time. Therefore we feel that strategy is likely to lead to a sustainable occupancy model.
