1 Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine- IIIM-TBI Manpower training Programme Hands on training on Industrial Biotechnology and Fermentation Technology IIIM-TBI (Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine- Technology Business Incubator) a company of CSIR-IIIM, Jammu is devoted to R&D activities, technology support and academic including Skill Training/HR) for the benefit of industrial biotechnology in the country. IIIM-TBI invites applications for Manpower Training programme in Fermentation Technology at CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, as per the details given below: Title of the Course : Hands on training on basic microbiology and fermentation technology Duration : 2 months & 6 months No. of Seats : 20 per batch Educational Qualification : Graduates/postgraduates for 2 months and Post graduates/ph.d. students/industry people for 6 months Age group : years (relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Govt. rules) Date of commencement : & (for 6 months) onwards (open throughout the year) Venue of the course : IIIM-TBI, CSIR-IIIM Course Fee : Rs. 10,000/- (for 2 months) Rs. 35,000/- (for 6 months) Residential/Non-residential : Non-residential (Hostel facility may be provided on payment basis with prior request)

2 Training for whom : Biotechnology sector is one of the fastest growing knowledge-based sectors in India and is expected to play a key role in shaping India's rapidly developing economy. Therefore, under the proposed training program, conceptual theory and practical training will be provided on biotechnology, industrial microbiology and fermentation technology to the participants (graduates/post graduates/ph.d students). proposed SDP may help to generate skilled manpower required in the area of Industrial Microbiology Management and Faculty : The primary faculty for the program will be the scientists/technical officers of Fermentation Technology Division. Experts from industry and other national/international institutions may be invited for as guest faculty. PME Division of CSIR-IIIM will manages applications and other support to the candidates for the proposed certificate course. Selection Procedure : Candidates will be selected on first come first served basis. In case large number of applicants, selection mode may be entrance test and/or Interview. Methods of Instruction : Instruction methods involve lectures and hands on practice training on site. Medium of instruction will be in English. Sponsorship : CSIR/ other sponsoring agencies like DST, DBT etc would be the requested for major funding. Established industrial houses are welcome to sponsor candidates of their interest. In the selection modality, a special weightage will be provided to the candidates sponsored by established industries and non-profit making social organizations.
