ABOUT HAGAR AUSTRALIA Hagar Australia works, as part of the global Hagar network, to transform the lives of women and children who have been trafficked, enslaved or abused. We do this work in Afghanistan, Cambodia and Vietnam. POSITION SUMMARY Job Title Location Reporting to Hours per week Partnerships and Events Manager South Melbourne, Victoria Hagar Australia CEO 22.5 hours (3 days), with some additional hours around key events and during travel Must be available for one overseas trip per year and occasional interstate travel. The appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a Working with Children and Police Check. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Partnerships and Events Manager works closely with Hagar Australia s CEO, staff and volunteers to develop and manage strategic partnerships that will grow and diversify Hagar Australia s income and build its profile. The position is also responsible for managing Hagar s fundraising events, including building relationships with all key event partners, ticket sales, prize sourcing, volunteer management and, ultimately, achieving fundraising targets for each event. hagar.org.au Partnership Manager JD Page 2 of 5

3 RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Events Manage Hagar Australia s major events, including state-based lunches, dinners or drinks events; Style for Life; and Run for Freedom. Build relationships with event partners and sponsors to source in-kind donations of goods and services and ensure minimal costs for all events. Recruit and manage teams of volunteers Secure prizes Manage event budgets and logistics Ambassadors Recruit and build positive, long-term relationships with high-profile ambassadors to strengthen Hagar s brand and the impact of its events. Corporate Partners Identify, develop and manage mutually beneficial partnerships with the Australian corporate sector that will generate significant ongoing revenue, pro bono services and in-kind donations for Hagar Ensure that corporate gifts, donations and volunteer efforts are appropriately acknowledged. Schools and other Community Groups Foundations and Major Donors Support the development of Hagar Australia s strategy for engaging with schools and other community groups. Raise Hagar Australia s profile with schools and community groups. Support the community fundraising activities of schools and other community groups for Hagar Strategically identify and develop relationships with identified foundations and major donors, aligned with Hagar s mission; Grow Hagar Australia s income from foundations and major donors. Program Visits Coordinate visits to Hagar s international programs for prospective and existing major donors and corporate partners. hagar.org.au Partnership Manager JD Page 3 of 5

4 MEASUREMENT OF SUCCESS Success in this role will be assessed before the completion of a probationary period and again at the end of the first year against the following annual key performance indicators: Relationships with existing corporate partners, trusts and foundations, major donors, and church and community groups are maintained and strengthened. Hagar Australia s income grows through the establishment of new relationships with at least: Two new corporate partners; Two new trusts or foundations; Two new community groups or schools; and Four new major donors. Personal KPI s for income generation are achieved. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA The ideal candidate for the position will have: A strong track record of generating income from successful partnerships. Experience managing successful fundraising events. Outstanding relationship management skills and the proven ability to relate to a diverse range of stakeholders, including high-profile ambassadors and volunteers. A proven ability to be innovative, and to identify and capitalise on new opportunities. Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to work efficiently in a highly productive environment.
