2 Attachment(s): Resolution No Grant Award Letter Summary statement: The City of Palmer has been granted a State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry, Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant in the amount of $10,000 to purchase firefighter alerting pagers and class A fire suppression foam for Palmer Fire and Rescue. Palmer Fire & Rescue Applied for this grant in March of This grant is used to assist in the purchase of wildland fire protection equipment for departments across Alaska. On May 18, 2015 an interagency committee met to allocate the funds to area fire departments, and Palmer Fire & Rescue was chosen to receive $10,000. This grant will be matched with Palmer Fire & Rescue budgeted funds in the amount of $ and also In-kind assistance through joint training sessions and other training activities performed with Palmer Fire & Rescue. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Palmer City Council to accept and appropriate $10, from the Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant and to authorize the City Manager to purchase firefighting alerting pagers and class A fire suppression foam. ORIGINAL SCOPE OF WORK The City proposes to use the Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant funds to firefighter alerting pagers and class A fire suppression foam for Palmer Fire & Rescue.
