5 Tamil Nadu - The vibrant economy TIDCO State GDP crossed USD 80 billion in , registering a CAGR of 9% in comparison with GDP growth propelled by Industries and Services sector, registering a CAGR of 9% and 10% respectively. On a PPP basis, Tamil Nadu s GDP is higher than Norway, Finland, Denmark, New Zealand, Vietnam, etc, ranking among the top 50 countries of the world. Contributes : 8.4% of India s GDP 11% of India s industrial output 17% of India s share in number of factories 16% share in India s industrial workforce 28% of India s Renewable Energy 18% of India s technical univeersities

6 Industrial Policy 2014 The Industrial Policy 2014 is aligned to the objectives laid out in Vision Several incentives and subsidies have been announced as a part of this Industrial Policy. Capital subsidy and electricity tax exemption New or expansion manufacturing units will be given a backended capital subsidy and electricity tax exemption on power purchased from TANGEDCO. 50% Stamp duty concession on lease or sale of land for projects located in industrial parks promoted by SIPCOT. Environmental protection infrastrucutre subsidy for Dedicated Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) and/or Hazardous Waste Treatment Storage and Display Facility (HWTSDF) set up by individual manufacturing units. Structured incentive package for mega projects Additional incentives for southern districts

7 Vision Tamil Nadu 2023 The vision for Tamil Nadu for 2023 is to become India s most prosperous and progressive State with no poverty, and where its people enjoy all the basic services of a modern society and live in harmonious engagement with the environment and with the rest of the world. Key facets of Vision 2023 include Tamil Nadu s enhanced economic dynamism, best in class human development indicators, well developed infrastructure that provides universal access to basic services, an investment climate that compares with the best in Asia, and the evolution into India s foremost knowledge and innovation hub. 18 Successful Joint Ventures of TIDCO ChennaiTradeCentre Exhibition Halls and Convention Centre developed in a c r e s o f l a n d a t a p r i m e l o c a t i o n a t Nandambakkam, Chennai for organising national and international trade fairs in association with Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), GoI. The total Project cost Rs.60.7 Crores. Chennai Trade Centre comprises of 3 exhibition halls and a convention centre with seating capacity for 2000 persons. It has been proposed to expand Chennai Trade Centre due to growing demand for exhibition space. The master development plan for the construction of additional Sq.mtrs of exhibition space has been prepared by TNTPO. Government has given enter upon permission for additional land of 9.13 acres to TNTPO. 20 Successful Joint Ventures of TIDCO TNRDC TNRDC has been formed to develop, finance, build, operate, maintain and manage highway systems, design and engineering for integrated toll road management of highways. TNRDC had developed the East Coast Road from Chennai to Puducherry to an extent of kms. at a cost of Rs.61 crores on a BOOT basis. (2)RajivGandhiSalai(ITCorridor)Project. 24 Petroleum,Chemicals&Petrochemicals InvestmentRegion(PCPIR) 256 sq.kms. area has been identified along the coastal areas of Cuddalore & Nagapattinam districts for establishing a Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region. Out of this about 104 sq. kms. area isdesignated as the Processing area. Investment in the infrastructure including external road linkages, internal roads, railway yard, port and in utilities sources is estimated at about Rs.13,800 crores. 26 Upcoming Projects of TIDCO GVK-PerambalurSEZ National Highways-45 (four lane) A Multi product SEZ in Perambalur District at an estimated project cost of Rs.827 Crore 3,000 Acres Land Acquisition has been completed. Site located along the NH Kms from Chennai Airport, 70 Kms from Trichy Airport. M/s GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd. (GVKPIL) and TIDCO are JV partners. A special purpose vehicle company viz., GVK Perambalur SEZ Pvt. Ltd has been formed as a JV between TIDCO & GVKPIL. Consultants have been appointed. Project report preparation was completed. Master planning is underway. Water supply scheme under implementation. Formal Approval for this multi product SEZ has been received from Department of Commerce, Government of India. 27 Upcoming Projects of TIDCO LIQUIFIEDNATURALGAS IMPORTTERMINAL TIDCO and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. are jointly implementing a 5 million tonnes per year capacity Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Import Terminal Project in the Ennore Port at an estimated investment of about Rs.5,170 crores. This Terminal will distribute about 180 lakhs cubic metres per day of natural gas for power plants, fertilizer units, other industries, domestic use and transportation sector in Tamil Nadu. A new Joint Venture company in the name of Indian Oil LNG Pvt. Ltd. has been formed. Design and Engineering activities are nearing completion and all the major critical equipments & materials are ordered. Construction of LNG Storage Tanks, Regasification facilities and Marine facilities construction is in full swing simultaneously. Indian Oil has been authorized by PNGRB to lay the pipeline. Presently, route survey works has been completed and detailed engineering is in progress. The construction activities of the Terminal were started in September 2015 and at present the overall progress of the project is around 54%. The project is expected to be completed in 2018.

28 Successful Joint Ventures of TIDCO TRILINFOPARKLTD- RAMANUJAMITPARK An IT/ITES SEZ in acres in Taramani, Chennai at a project cost of Rs 4000 crores A JV of TIDCO & TATA Group. TIDCO s Equity Rs.50 crs. Four Towers with built space of 3.04 million sq.ft is operational. Construction activities for Phase-II viz. additional IT space of 1.2 million sq.ft., 100 Service Apartments and an Integrated International Convention Centre have been commenced. 29 Upcoming Projects of TIDCO AerospaceParkProject With the view to support the development of Aerospace Industries, the State Government announced in the year that the Aerospace Park will be established in the State. To achieve the objective of the announcement the following approach has been adopted: i) Securing SEZ status and expansion of the existing limited facility of Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Ltd. in Hosur. ii) Development of the Aircrafts' Component Manufacturing Park in around 100 acres near Sriperumbudur. iii) Setting up of an MRO facility near Chennai Airport in around 50 acres. iv) Establishing an Integrated Aerospace Park in Perambalur in around 3,000 acres.

30 Upcoming Projects of TIDCO PLASTICINDUSTRIESPARK TIDCO is establishing a Plastic Industries Park in about 306 acres of land in Ponneri, Thiruvallur District with an investment of about Rs.294 crores in association with SIPCOT. As per the Policy announced by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, this Project will be eligible for grant funding by GoI upto 50% of the project cost not exceeding Rs.40 crs per project. This Polymer Industries Park will have infrastructure required to accommodate about 84 medium and small scale plastic components manufacturing units. SPV for implementing the Plastic Industries Park was incorporated in the name of Tamil Nadu Polymers Industries Park Ltd (TPIPL) as a J V Company of TIDCO and SIPCOT on The Dept. of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, GoI has granted final approval for this project. MoA was signed with Dept of Chemicals and Petrochemicals by TIDCO, SIPCOT and TPIPL on in New Delhi. The Dept. of Chemicals and Petrochemicals released a sum of Rs.3.89 Crores as a part of the first installment grant of Rs.8.00 Crores, out of the total sanctioned grant amount of Rs Crore to TPIPL under the scheme

32 Upcoming Projects of TIDCO HEAVYENGINEERINGHUB A Heavy Engineering Components Manufacture Hub is being established in area of about 700 acres in the Ponneri, Tiruvallur District at an estimated cost of about Rs.700 crores. This hub is to be developed as a special investment area for the Shipbuilding support units, electrical and other engineering industry including Auto Component Industry sectors. TIDCO is in the process of preparing the Detailed Project Report for this project. The Land acquisition is in progress NATIONALINVESTMENTAND MANUFACTURINGZONE(NIMZ) TIDCO has planned to establish a NIMZ in the Ramanathapuram District under the National Investment Manufacturing Policy notified by Govt. of India in November, Total investment required is estimated at about Rs.7090 crs. Funds support proposed from GoI and GoTN are estimated up to Rs.6,940 crs and Rs.150 crs respectively. State Govt. received an In-principle approval from GoI for this project in February, TIDCO has completed a Techno-Economic Feasibility Study on this project in December This study report will be forwarded to Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India for obtaining final approval for this project.

33 Upcoming Projects of TIDCO CHENNAI-BENGALURUINDUSTRIAL CORRIDOR(CBIC)- PONNERIINDUSTRIALNODE The Ponneri Industrial Node in the Chennai - Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) region comprises an area of about 21,966 acres in 10 villages in the Ponneri, Thiruvallur District. Including the cost of lands/land procurement, investment proposed for Phase 1 development spread over a period of four years i.e up to 2019, is estimated at about Rs 13,314 Crores. Node Layout plan for the three Phases of the Node Development has been finalized. DIPP, GoI has approved to declare the Ponneri Industrial Node as a National Investment Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ). For the development of Ponneri Industrial Node an Institutional Framework has been finalized. Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Ltd. (DMICDC) has been directed by DIPP to complete the Master Plan and Engineering and the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for the Ponneri Industrial Node.

34 Upcoming Projects of TIDCO MEDIPARK A Medi Park near Chengalpet at an estimated project cost of Rs.130 crs in about 330 acres of lands in association with HLL Lifecare Limited (HLL), Trivandrum. This proposed Medipark shall have Medical Devices and Equipment Zone, Biotech/Bio Informatics Zone w i t h i n c u b a t i o n f a c i l i t y a n d a R e s e a r c h & Development Zone. Union cabinet has given approval on for implementing this project. HLL Medi Park Ltd has submitted DPR to TIDCO. SPV Company is being formed by the JV promoter HLL Life Care, a Govt. of India Enterprise to implement the project. Proposed investment of TIDCO in this project is Rs. 5 crores SolarBiomassHybrid PowerandDesalinationPlant Establishing a 50 MW solar thermal hybrid power generation with desalination facility in Valinokkam, Ramnad, District TIDCO has completed the Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) on this proposal through consultant. This project will be in a phased manner and the first phase of the project (i.e.) 10 MW Solar PV facility will be implemented by the TIDEL Park Ltd.

Ltd., Technology transfer for Radiation Processing Plant.
