3 Impact 100 Cincinnati was Begun in 2002 Following this Model it is the basis for all chapters today 3

4 Growth has been Consistent Since the Beginning today there are over 50 chapters formed or in development in the U.S. & Australia Collectively, over $45 million dollars have been given in grants since

5 We formed in late 2016 based on the Impact 100 model, utilizing processes & lessons learned from existing chapters. Our Mission is to unite women in our community to make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. Our Goal is to collectively raise funds to support unmet charity needs in Contra Costa and Alameda counties and raise awareness for deserving organizations. By working together and combining our resources, we can provide transformational grants each year to local non-profits aiding our communities and their residents. 12 3 Focus Areas for Year 1: Education, Family, and Health & Wellness Eligibility Requirements: Recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the IRS code; Located in, expends funds to, and serves residents of Alameda and/or Contra Costa counties; Maintains proper financial health and demonstrates organizational strength; Identifies a project/program/initiative that: targets a defined population; executes over a defined duration; has defined, measurable goals; will use the full grant amount ( or if part of a larger project, can confirm other financial sources); drives a high-impact, transformational outcome. Expends funds within 24 months of the first grant installment; Ensures outcomes are sustainable 2 or more years beyond completion of project/program/initiative; and Agrees to provide interim progress reports and a final report to Impact 100 East Bay.

13 Grant Process Information: Focus Area Definitions EDUCATION Programs and initiatives essential to improving the educational process or improve access to education for children and/or adults in Contra Costa and/or Alameda County. Examples include but are not limited to: empowerment and leadership development programs; job skills and employment; educational technology improvements; educational and vocational achievement; teen pregnancy prevention; life skills training, etc. HEALTH & WELLNESS Programs and initiatives that are essential to strengthening and enhancing segments of the Contra Costa and/or Alameda County communities with significant economic, educational, social and physical needs. This population includes the elderly, single people, youth and families. Examples include but are not limited to: affordable healthcare and dental care; no cost/low cost food programs; homeless services; conflict resolution skills; healthy choices education; elderly and disadvantaged people services; crisis and emergency response services, etc. Excludes specific illness or disease focused programs and initiatives, such as the American Cancer Society. FAMILY Programs and initiatives that strengthen and enhance the lives of children and families residing in Contra Costa and/or Alameda County. Examples include but are not limited to: services and housing for abused women; parenting skills; response to domestic violence and child and elder abuse; affordable childcare; affordable housing/shelter, etc. Each non-profit, as part of the application process, must indicate at least one grant focus area. This is your choice as we feel you best know your project/program for which you are requesting funding. 13

14 General operating expenses or overhead; General construction or renovation; General capital campaigns that are unrelated to a specific program/project/initiative; General advertising; Debt reduction, operating deficits, interim/bridge financing, or endowment funding; Individual or private foundations; Activities that are religious, partisan, fraternal, sectarian, legislative or political in nature; Annual appeals, fund drives, fundraising events; Legal expenses incurred in any action by or against the organization; or Programs/projects/initiatives that unlawfully discriminate based on age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation.

15 Impact Grant: A minimum of $100,000* will be award to the finalist whose proposal receives the most votes from the full Impact 100 East Bay membership at the Annual Award Celebration. The number of impact grants awarded each cycle depends on the number of members. For each increment of 100, an impact grant will be given. * In Year 1, we will award an Impact Grant, even if the number of members is less than 100 and the dollar value is less than $100,000. If funds are available above the $100,000 increment, but not meeting the next $100,000 level, we reserve the right to award smaller additional grants: Jump Start Grant: An award may be given to a finalist who receives the second largest number of votes to be used to plan and/or start their transformative effort. The recipient of the award(s) is encouraged to submit a grant application the following year. Merit Grant: A minimal award to recognize & thank a finalist may be given. The amount may be used at the sole discretion of the recipient. 15

16 The Impact 100 East Bay Letter of Intent (LOI) is an online form. The LOI provides the information necessary for you to begin the process to be considered for a Grant. The form will be available at on February 28. On March 20, an estimate of the grant amount will be provided to those who have submitted an LOI. Member donations for the current cycle will be collected until April 15. An Impact 100 East Bay contact will be provided to you in case you have questions during this timeframe. Your completed Letter of Intent is due on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 8 pm PT. 16

17 Grant Process Information: Grant Application The Letter of Intent will be evaluated by the Impact 100 East Bay Grant Committee. It is expected that a subset will be invited to submit a Grant Application. Applicants will be informed via on April 17, 2017 that they are invited to apply. If your organization has been selected to move forward with submission of a Grant Application, you will be directed to a link at Your completed Grant Application is due on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 8 pm PT. 17

18 The number of finalists brought forward to the Annual Award Celebration will be based on the number of members at that time.
