6 ArtsKC Thought Leaders Series Beginning 2015 ArtsKC s Advocacy program presents the first-ever ArtsKC Thought Leaders Series. This series of four panel discussions and speaker events will educate the Kansas City community and elected officials on the value and impact of the arts to our economy and quality of life. Topics may include: how do we utilize the arts for neighborhood revitalization? How can we use the arts as a means to create a sustainable economic impact in our community? How do artists create meaningful change in their community through their artwork? In addition to four events, this program supports ArtsKC s annual Legislative Day in Jefferson City, MO; our action alert software which allows us to communicate to our constituents on important issues on the local, state and national level; and our united arts fund, The ArtsKC Fund, which is our grant-making program for artists and arts organizations. 13 The Beautiful Game Sporting KC Partnership Date: Spring 2015 Location: Sporting Kansas City Office, Historic Lowe & Campbell Building Sporting Park, One Sporting Way Last year, ArtsKC teamed up with Sporting KC to present the city s first-ever Beautiful Game art competition and fundraiser for the ArtsKC Fund and the Victory Project.
