Salaries/benefits/taxes Animal care expenses (food, cleaning products, cleaning equipment, veterinary supplies/vaccines, etc.) Office expenses (computers, printers, copiers, paper, office supplies) Outside vendors (i.e., veterinary costs, property maintenance insurance companies, printing companies) Vehicles (animal control trucks, transfer vehicles, etc.) Building (rent, mortgage, maintenance, utilities)

9 Love your Financial Folks!! Prepare realistic budgets for your organization with as-accurate-as-possible expense & revenue projections. Don t forget to calculate staff time into the costs for special events. Never be afraid to ask vendors for a donation and/or a discount on items you purchase from them Thank every donor of $$ or in-kind services promptly and accurately and let them know how their donation helped save an animal s life.

10 Cash Reserves Determine the amount that fundraising should add to the cash reserves of the organization. These are normally nonrestricted funds.

11 Restricted Funds Determine the amount of fundraising that will be for restricted funds. These are normally for programs or services such as humane investigations, spay/neuter, and others. By: Sharing Pet
