7 Territorial Dialogue Commitments Commissioner Verheugen: the Commission will pay attention to LMP findings prior to modification of Integrated Guidelines in 2008 Commissioner Hübner: a top-down approach to policy design and delivery will not bring the necessary results. The LMP will help entrench a wider recognition of partnership and proximity Dr. Žagar (Slovenian Presidency): close cooperation with CoR to ensure successful delivery of the CoR s report on Lisbon to the 2008 Spring European Council

8 Next steps OBJECTIVE 100 March/April 2007 : Call for Expression of interest on LMP website Priority will be given to regions that are so far underrepresented (e.g. Romania, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Belgium) Deadline for targeted call: 19 April 2007, for EDUC members extension possible

9 Next steps LMP 2007 events and aims Preparation of the report to the Spring European Council two-day workshop in May 2007 focusing on Investment in knowledge and innovation as one of the 4 specific areas for priority action in Presidency Conclusions of March 2006 Working dialogue with the Slovenian presidency in view of the Spring European Council 2008 Support to CoR Commissions, including EDUC s work through dedicated workshops on priority topics Support further community building among the Lisbon Monitoring Platform participants Ensure a proper take-up of the monitoring exercise 2007 in the European Commission s progress report
