2 Our Flagship Global Innovation Immersion OBJECTIVES The 12 week Global Innovation Immersion (GII) is intended to: I. Expand our students global innovation network II. Inspire action through immersion in vibrant innovative & entrepreneurial ecosystem III. Strengthen entrepreneurial skillsets through experiential learning WHO WHEN Year 2 Year 4 SMU Undergraduates Major in Business, Accountancy, Economics, Social Science, Information Systems, Law May August (7 th May th July 2018) Students intern for 12 weeks WHERE Major cities in US, China, ASEAN and Europe

5 Impact Of Our Programme Nicholas Han (GII 2015 Alumni) Nicholas Han credits the of success of Schaffen Watches to the experience he had during EIP. He gained significant insights into the watch business and learnt how to tackle pain points the startup faced amidst other things. 6 Impact Of Our Programme Mervin Ho (GII 2017 Alumni) Mervin got inspired whilst networking with Fintech entrepreneurs during his EIP stint, and kickstarted his journey with Haste. 18 SMU Global Innovation Immersion Award Offered to students on GII Europe & GII USA Eligible students can receive an award of up to $8,000 Requirements for Award Demonstrated interest in Innovation and/or Entrepreneurship Complete unbroken internship with startup during GII Attend all mandatory events, briefings & classes organized for GII Submit post-trip report (5 slides) describing your GII experience Be a student ambassador for IIE in the following term (AY2018/19)

19 Young Talent Programme Grant (IE Singapore) Offered to students on GII Asia (Southeast Asia & China) Eligible students can receive award of up to $4,200 Requirements for YTP Grant Singaporean / PR Complete unbroken internship with startup Attend all mandatory events, briefings & classes organized for GII Submit post-trip report (5 slides) describing your GII experience Be a student ambassador for IIE in the following term (AY2018/19) Must not hold any other award which provides funding for overseas programme

21 Eligibility & Requirements for GII Programme is open to all full-time SMU Undergraduates Students should possess interest in innovation and/or entrepreneurship Students should possess maturity to live and work independently in a foreign and fastpaced environment Students are required to submit the following documents: Curriculum vitae (CV) Slides (3 5) telling us why you will make a good candidate for this programme.
