1 STATUS REPORT 1 Quarter 1: October 2016 January 2017 This report serves as an update on the CAPSEM project for the first project quarter, M1-4, Oct 16- Jan 17. Deliverable February

2 Status Report 1 October January Signing of the Grant Agreement (GA) The GA was signed in December Due to Makerere University s (Mak) closure, they were not listed in the original GA. Discussion with the Agency indicates that Mak will be able to rejoin the agreement and the proper steps have been initiated by the coordinator to do so. 2. Kick-off meeting, WP1, Task 1.1, to be held Dec 2016 along with the Capacity building workshop, WP3, Task 3.1 The Kick-off meeting (1.1) and CB Workshop (3.1) were successfully held December 2016 in Mumbai, India. The Tata Institute of Social Sciences graciously hosted the event and provided a forum for an overview of project responsibilities, team building and discussion. The Kick-off meeting agenda and presentations are attached in Appendix 1 CB workshop agenda and presentations are attached in Appendix 2 Participant lists from the meeting and workshop are attached in Appendix 3 3. CAPSEM website to be established by Dec 2016, WP 7, Task The website was established in November 2016 at The project logo and graphic profile, including a powerpoint template will be developed by WP7 lead, ULisboa. This will be completed by May CAPSEM Management portal by Dec 2016, WP7, Task The management portal was established on the GLIP platform in November Press conference with Kick-off meeting and workshop, Dec 2016, WP7, Task Due to some difficulties related to the delay of the GA and uncertainty whether the Kick-off meeting would be held, a press conference was not held for the Kickoff meeting Individual plans for dissemination will be submitted by each partner in March 2017, and activities will be planned to make up for the planned press conference 3 February

Creation of L1-4 Material Packages (MPs), WP 2, Activity 2.1 The collection of material for L1-4 MPs began at the Kick-off meeting where partners shared previous experience, and existing curricula and competencies in project methods. Partners have been requested to complete a document with more information by 3 rd March, so that information can be compiled Program partners, NTNU, TU Delft and ULisboa, have also been requested to begin gathering their material for combination into MPs The Delft meeting, WP2, Task 2.1.1, has been scheduled for 21 st -22 nd March. At this meeting, program partners will gather material and discuss the best way to combine it by the May 2017 deadline for further capacity building and curriculum development. 7. Creation of Capacity building videos, WP3, Task Creation of the CB videos has not yet begun, but will follow with further discussion and decision on what L1-4 MPs will specifically contain. Although video production has not yet begun, the gathering of existing material and staff with experience will inform video development and production. 8. The Partnership Agreement (PA) will be completed by the end of February for approval and signature by all partners. The PA will outline details of the project consortium, including financial policies and conflict resolution. 3 February
