1 Council Contingent: The is allocated a contingent of 5 Boy Scout Troops (total of 180 youth ages 12 up to 18; and 20 adult leaders over age 21) and 1 Venturing Crew (9 coed youth ages 14 up to 21; 1 adult male or female leader over age 21) Dates: (preliminary to be confirmed) Departure approximately 11:30 pm on July 18, 2017 July 19 to July 28, 2017 Jamboree Program at The Summit, WV Return home July 28, 2017 Qualifications: Scouts: Be at least a First Class Scout at time of attendance at Jamboree; must be at least 12 years of age by July 19, 2017 or an 11 year old that has graduated the 6th grade and have not reached his 18th birthday by 7/28/17. Be approved by unit Scoutmaster. Venturers: Have graduated 8th grade or be at least 14 years of age by 7/19/2017, but have not reached their 21st birthday by 7/28/2017. Be approved by Crew Advisor. All: Be approved by the Jamboree Committee; have parent/ guardian online consent completed; file online Jamboree BSA Health and Medical form dated after July 28, 2016 (within one year of the Jamboree). Registration: Complete the council registration form; complete the National on-line registration. (see page 4 for instructions); & make $175 deposit to office (see payment schedule) Activities: Encampment at the Summit: Activities include whitewater rafting, zip-lining, forest canopy touring, rappelling, mountain biking, hiking, archery, buckskin games, confidence course, conservation programs, scuba, and more. Action centers with rappelling towers are truly popular, as are trap shooting, an American Indian village, and the opening and closing arena shows, not to mention many other activities. It's Scouting at its very best! Financial Details: The total estimated cost for each participant is $1,375. This cost is preliminary and subject to change if there is a significant change in transportation fuel costs. The cost includes transportation, meals en route to and from the jamboree, special patches, patrol and troop equipment, and Jamboree training meetings. A payment schedule is attached with installments due beginning with registration, and the final payment due December When National Scholarships become available the scholarship form will be posted. Subsequent Payments are non-refundable unless the contingent is full and the individual slot is reassigned to another youth from the waiting list and fees are paid by the wait list youth. The total cost of $1,375 is based on projected costs for the national fee and projected transportation costs. 4 ON-LINE NATIONAL REGISTRATION Go to the national web site at: You will be guided through a step by step registration process You will need: Your BSA membership number 2017 Jamboree Registration Information To submit a NEW application, you will need your My.Scouting username and password. If you do not have a My.Scouting account, please go to (new system) and follow the directions to create an account. A handful of things to be sure of: 1. The My.Scouting account needs to be in the name of the person attending the Jamboree, not the parent/guardian that is completing the application for a youth participant. 2. The My.Scouting account you use should also be linked to your current BSA membership number. 3. The membership number that you linked to your Jamboree application will be linked to the entire process, including your BSA Health & Medical Record. 4. All applicants must have a current, non-expired, BSA membership. 5. Use Chrome, Firefox or IE 10 or above to access the Jamboree application. Other browsers may not be compatible with this system.
