16 EPFL Research collaborations: Defined IP Policy Company pays for a specific research project GENERAL RULES Research contracts Company priority to patent interesting results IP ownership transferred to Company if patent filed by Company Subject to specific cases, no royalties are due later by Company in case of commercial exploitation of results Company and EPFL may freely use unpatented results, subject to possible special clauses on software Free license from Company to EPFL on patented results outside of a defined Field of Use, with the right to grant sublicenses.
