These submissins illustrate the talent f GFWC members and are a reflectin f ur cmmunities. HOW TO ENTER ALL GFWC WRITING CONTESTS State Level Instructins Clubs must send entries t their state s Writing Cntests Chairman fr state judging. State entry deadlines are determined by states. State Writing Cntest Chairmen shall select judges, wh will evaluate submissins and select a first place winning entry in each categry. State Writing Cntest Chairmen shuld keep in mind the natinal deadline when arranging fr state judging. Natinal Level Instructins One winning state entry per writing cntest, per categry, must be pstmarked n r befre April 1, 2011, and April 1, 2012, and sent t the natinal GFWC Writing Cntest Chairman. All entries must be accmpanied by a cver letter frm the state GFWC Creative Writing Cntest Chairman with a cmplete list f Writing Cntest state winners. 2 The GFWC Writing Cntest Chairman r yur state s Writing Cntest Chairman can prvide mre infrmatin and answer any questins regarding the GFWC Creative Arts Waiver Frm and its submissin. Nte that nly the state s winning writing submissins must be frwarded t GFWC with the GFWC Creative Arts Waiver. The GFWC Creative Arts Waiver can be fund in the Resurces Sectin r dwnladed frm /GFWCMembers. GFWC MEMBER WRITING CONTESTS GFWC Member Shrt Stry Writing Cntest Authrs must be dues-paying members f an active GFWC club. Shrt stries are limited t 2,000 wrds. Entries must be typed, duble-spaced, printed n ne side nly, with minimum margins f ne-inch n all fur sides, n 8.5 x 11-inch paper. Entries must be written during the cntest year. Entries must have the fllwing n the tp right hand crner f each page: Authr s Name, address, mailing address, and phne number Name f authr s GFWC club and state federatin Title f wrk Authrs must be amateurs; earnings frm writing may nt exceed $500 annually. Entries may nt have been published prir t the cmpetitin and must be riginal wrks by the authrs. GFWC Member Petry Writing Cntest Authrs must be dues-paying members f an active GFWC club. Petry entries can be any style, with a minimum length f eight lines and a maximum f 50 lines. Entries must be typed, duble-spaced, printed n ne side nly, with minimum margins f ne-inch n all fur sides, n 8.5 x 11-inch paper. Entries must be written during the cntest year.
