2 INVITATION The Biosecurity Centre of Excellence, Box Hill Institute, is hosting the Farm Biosecurity 2016 Future Proof Your Business on 8 November Farm Biosecurity 2016 is a must attend event for primary producers and businesses with farm-biosecurity responsibilities. The event will address farm biosecurity in a practical and informative series of workshops and lectures. Sessions will address emerging threats and how to minimise the likelihood of an outbreak. We anticipate 100 attendees to this event, to be held in the newly established Biosecurity Centre of Excellence at the BHI campus in Lilydale. We would like to extend to your organisation the opportunity to be associated with this event. The success of events such as this conference depend significantly on sponsorship from industry partners. 3 THE EVENT This event is designed for primary producers and organisations with a biosecurity responsibility to address farm biosecurity in a practical and informative way. The day s program will be a series of facilitated workshops and lectures by leading industry experts. WHO WILL ATTEND? 10 ABOUT US THE BIOSECURITY CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE The Biosecurity Centre of Excellence is an initiative of Box Hill Institute with support from the Victorian Government to deliver industry-led research and training on how we respond to, and recover from, pests and diseases that threaten Australia s food, agriculture, and animal health industries, and addresses Australia s unique environmental-biosecurity needs. The Centre is uniquely situated at the beautiful Lilydale Lakeside Campus in the heart of the Yarra Valley berry, fruit and winegrowing region which is also home to many small to medium sized pig and poultry businesses and a growing equine sector. The Centre also supports the delivery of Box Hill Institute s higher education biosecurity and biotechnology educational courses and will provide industry experience and vocational training where the need exists.
