5 FY 2018 Public Works Council Membership Approval SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS The current PWC Structure has 20 seats for the 13 cities with populations over 100,000 (two seats each for the three largest cities) and the four largest counties with populations over 400,000. It has 16 seats for 16 subregions to adequately represent the remainder of the NCTCOG planning region. The PWC has 5 private sector seats.

16 Other Program Activities Cooperating Technical Partnership (CTP): Statements of qualifications from 4 proposers are currently being reviewed by the scoring committee for the CTP consultant for a 3-year contract. Award anticipated October. Applications have been submitted to FEMA for Richland-Chambers Discovery, Town Creek/CF-5 Flood Risk Identification Projects, and the CHARM special project. Award of funds anticipated in October.
17 Other Program Activities Community Rating System (CRS) Users Group: CRS Users Group Meeting June 23 rd Enforcing Historical Violations: Panel made up of TWDB, FEMA Region VI, City of Grand Prairie, and City of Benbrook led discussion and answered questions regarding historical floodplain violations. Annual Combined Elected Officials Floodplain Seminar/CRS Users Group: Held August 23 rd. Topics were NCTCOG programs that help communities with floodplain issues, TWDB resources for communities, NFIP Reauthorization, and changes to the 2017 CRS Manual.

22 2017 One Day Seminar- Public Works Connects Us Key Note Speaker: Michael Ablon Michael Ablon is a founding partner of PegasusAblon, a multidisciplinary developer and investor focused on the integration of emerging markets and evolving demographic trends. He led the redevelopment of the Dallas Design District from a warehouse/showroom district in the s to a vibrant neighborhood of galleries, restaurants, and apartments, while maintaining the history, vibe, and character of the neighborhood. Ablon will serve as Chairman of the Local Government Corporation for the Trinity River Corridor. The first major project for the LGC will be the development of a great central park, Harold Simmons Park. Mr. Ablon has Bachelor Degrees in Engineering and Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master s Degree from Harvard. He is the first recipient of the Pioneer Award in Dallas.
