1 2017 Tyndale House Founda on Overseas Organiza on With Fiscal Sponsor Grant Applica on Instruc ons Please read these instruc ons carefully before you begin to make your online applica on process go as smoothly as possible. You may be the person on the ground overseas, or you may be in the U.S. ac ng on their behalf in submi ng this applica on. Welcome Welcome to the Tyndale House Founda on Online Applica on Process. We consider it a privilege to be invited to learn about your ministry and your project. Please keep in mind that we receive significantly more applica ons than we can possibly fund. We are confident this online process will make it easier for us to partner together as we seek God's guidance in building the Kingdom for His glory. As we pray about the projects presented to us, we also ask you to pray for us to have wisdom and discernment in the distribu on of funds. Instruc ons Some applica on ques ons are marked with a red diamond. These fields are required. You will not be able to submit the applica on un l they are filled in. You can save the applica on and add items later. If you have submi ed a prior applica on, some of the fields in the new applica on will be automa cally filled in with the informa on from your prior applica on. If there have been changes, you will need to update. Pay par cular a en on to addresses, contact informa on, etc. Beside some of the larger text fields you will see a red check mark which you can click to spell check the text in that box. Some fields, such as phone numbers, ask you to "verify" informa on (or enter it twice) to ensure there are no errors in your entry. The text boxes with gray dots in the bo om right corner can be enlarged by clicking those dots with your mouse and dragging to the size needed. Text from your exis ng documents can be copied and pasted into the applica on text boxes. If you are transferring a large block of text, you may find it exceeds the maximum number of characters permi ed in that box and will have to be edited. Simple forma ng of the text transfers more clearly. Avoid automa c bullets and numbering. Manual forma ng using dashes and asterisks is best. We recommend that you review your applica on and print it out as a guide for gathering the informa on you might need. Simply click on the "Review My Applica on" bu on or "Printer- Friendly Version" bu on located at the top of each page. At the top and bo om of each page there is a "Save and Finish Later" bu on. Please take advantage of this important op on and save your work as you go. DO NOT use the "Submit" bu on at the end un l your applica on is completely finished and ready to send to us. You cannot add to or change your applica on a er it has been submi ed.
2 A er each session of working on your applica on you must "Logout" of the "My Account" page using the "Logout" bu on located on the top right of the page. When you have completed your applica on, choose the "Review & Submit" bu on on the last page. This will allow you to review it one last me and make changes. Then choose the "Submit" bu on. This closes your applica on and you can no longer add any informa on or a achments. When we receive it you will receive no fica on at the address you used to register your username.if this is not received within six hours a er making sure you have whitelisted us, contact us. Applica on Deadline: December 1st of each year Applica ons for Projects located Overseas You can use the bu ons across the top to move from page to page. First page--informa on about the overseas organiza on, staff and leadership Second page--informa on on your THF applica on account manager. Third page--details about the project that you are asking us to fund. Financial reports and budgets can be in local currency. Fourth page--informa on about your Fiscal Sponsor. You can tell us about the U.S. Organiza on, their leadership, key staff and U.S. tax exempt status informa on. The text boxes on this page have a copper colored background. You could give your login informa on to your Fiscal Sponsor and ask them to login and fill out the boxes with a copper colored background, a aching the necessary documents. See the Set Up and Manage Your Applicant Account page on our website for details. You may have tax exempt status in your own country, but that does not fulfill the requirements placed on our Founda on by U.S. law. ing Your Applica on to Colleagues If you need informa on from a colleague to complete your applica on, you can them a dra for their review. There is a bu on at the top of each page for this feature. If you would like them to complete a por on of the applica on themselves, simply provide them with your "username" and "password" so they can also login and complete some of the ques ons. If you are overseas, there are por ons of the overseas applica on that can be filled out by the U.S. Fiscal Sponsor or Headquarters office using this method. When your applica on is finished and does not require any more addi ons or reviews, use the "Submit" bu on at the end of the applica on form to send it to the Founda on. DO NOT the applica on to Tyndale House Founda on. A aching Documents On each page there are opportuni es for you to a ach documents. To upload a achments, click on the "Browse" bu on to find and select the document in your digital files you want to upload. Then click on the "Upload" bu on; The file name of your a ached document will appear. If you choose the wrong document to a ach, you can click "Remove" and browse for a new document. Please collect photos into a Word or PDF document. In some cases your annual report, or audit or financial statements may not be available by the December 1st deadline. In each case, a ach a word document to the appropriate ques on no ng when it will be ready. When it is available, it to us with an explana on that it is a "late" a achment to be added to your proposal. The should clearly state your organiza on name, project tle and applica on ID#. Note: total capacity for all a achments is 50 MB. Submi ng Your Applica on When you have completed your applica on, choose the "Review & Submit" bu on at the end of the last page. This will allow you to review it one last me and make changes. Then choose the "Submit" bu on. This closes your applica on and you can no longer add any informa on or a achments. This will serve as the Project Title. Example: "Development of indigenous publishers and authors in Eastern Europe and Africa" Request Amount In U.S. dollars. Total Cost of Project The full amount needed to accomplish your project in U.S. dollars. A ach Detailed Budget for the specific project, including projec ons for future years if applicable. This details the income and expenses you an cipate for your project. If they are spread over more than one year, please detail. This may be in local currency. The Founda on considers possible funding for only one year at a me. Do not request funding to cover mul ple years. Execu ve Summary establishing the need and the organiza on's ability to fulfill that need. Explain and document the need. Outline your vision and plan for mee ng that need and addressing the issues. Clarify with specifics and relate how you are suited to the task. Include possible partnerships or networking with others to meet the need. You can include links to informa on in your website. This Execu ve Summary should be a one page concise overview of this informa on. You can expand on the summary and include suppor ng informa on in the box below. 700 Word Limit

9 Select The Focus of Your Project Because resources are limited, and we receive many more requests than we can fund, the Founda on has defined very specifically our areas of interest. Chris an Literature: The Founda on seeks to encourage the produc on and distribu on of Bibles, teaching materials, magazines and other Chris an literature. It seeks also to support programs which are ini ated by, or provide training and experience for na onals in many lands. In today's digital environment, we also consider various other media in this category such as radio, TV, websites, digital publishing and educa on. Other Evangelical Work: The Founda on seeks to support programs which challenge others to take an ac ve and ongoing role in suppor ng the proposed project. It seeks to support training and leadership development. The Founda on rarely contributes to building projects, libraries, individual scholarships, or personnel support. A fiscal sponsor is a public charity seeking funds for a project compa ble with its own mission but implemented by an organiza on without a public charity status with the United States Internal Revenue Service. Although the overseas organiza on may have tax exempt status in their own country that does not sa sfy the requirements U.S. Tax Law requires of Tyndale House Founda on.
