6 Project Overview Strategy I: Parent Leadership and Advocacy Development Develop and strengthen the leadership skills of parents-residents and make connections among parents to collectively influence issues related to children ages 0-5 and their families 6

7 Project Overview Activity #1 Parent Leadership Development and Advocacy Training Establish, support and train a cohort of parent and residents from the community to become better advocates for their children and families within the Southeast Los Angeles Community Activity #2 Parents Leaders in Action Support trained parent leaders to effectively engage other parents, residents and community members on discussions as well as develop collective actions to support families and address issues that impact families in the Southeast Los Angeles Community 7

8 Project Overview Strategy II: Organizational Capacity Development Strengthen the cultural competency of community-based organizations, foster collaboration across organizations and support building a stronger relationship between organizations and parents of children ages 0-5 8

9 Project Overview Activity #1 Organizational Capacity Building Training Support and train a cohort of community based organizations to enhance their cultural competency; foster collaboration among organizations and support their ability to partner with parents to improve services for families within the Southeast Los Angeles Community Activity #2 Parent Leadership and Engagement Network Establish and support a network of parents, residents and organizations to work collectively to ensure organizations and systems are more responsive and accountable to families within the Southeast Los Angeles Community 9
