It employs around 80% of the Rwandan population but still the household income is at low level and unresponsive to economic issues. There needs integrated technology for strengthening the livelihoods of community members through promotion of innovation, creativity and uniqueness. One of World Vision s missions is to facilitate the increased capacity of creating new jobs responding to economic issues and thereby increasing livelihood resilience. REMARKS Mr. Paul NDIZIHIWE addressing his remark to the participants of the competition In his speech, Mr. Paul NDIZIHIWE, Sector Lead of Resilience, Food and Nutrition Security, he thanked participants of this competition as well as different partners such as Nyamagabe district and AgriProFocus Rwanda who involved in this event. He also encouraged the participants of this competition to work very hard, being ambitious and always seeking advice from different corners and exploiting various opportunities available in the area for the purpose of improving their livelihoods. 9
11 The representative of Nyamagabe who also participated in the evaluation of these projects at district level, he thanked World Vision Rwanda for its support in Nyamagabe district. He reminded the winners of the competition to keep working very hard and being role models for their fellows. The district will also keep doing follow up on these innovative projects for their sustainability. For you who didn t get any award from this competition, you don t have to worry about anything but you have to learn from your fellow and improve your products so that next time you will be here presenting your projects with uniqueness and creativity, he added V.CONCLUSION AND WAY FORWARD It is clear that the objectives of this competition in Nyamagabe district were achieved. The best 8 innovative small scale projects in 2018 have been selected. In addition, the project of MUHAYIMPUNDU Jean Marie Vianney (Who produces paints) will not be awarded because he is running his project in the closed Area of Program of Karaba. Generally his project is located in Kibilizi Sector but World Vision, Nyungwe Cluster is not operating in BUGARURA Cell where he runs his project. The participants of this competition have learnt how to interact partners and making connections with different stakeholders and this has been emphasized by local authorities and AgriProFocus staff who shared the role of financial linkages in business development. In addition, the project of MUHAYIMPUNDU Jean Marie Vianney will not be awarded because he is running his project in the closed Area of Program of Karaba. Yes in Kibilizi Sector but in BUGARURA Cell where Nyungwe Cluster is not operating The success of this event lies in the commitment of the participant (projects owners) and the support of the partners including Nyamagabe district and AgriProFocus Rwanda. The winners of the competition will keep collaborating with world vision and Nyamagabe district so their projects can keep making impact in the community development.
