1 Training for Eternity VENICE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL April 20, 2018 The Lion s Roar Dates to Remember Tues. Apr. 24th VCS Library CLOSING! PLEASE HELP US! - page 5 - Thurs. Apr. 26th Deadline for Eyeglass Donations - page 5 - Fri. Apr. 27th Math Olympics Mon. Apr. 30th SPIRIT WEEK BEGINS! - page 3 - Tues. Weds., May 1st-2nd Giving Challenge - page 2 - Thurs., May 3rd, Pizza Thursday - Pizza makeup day Fri. May 4th Victory Run NOON dismissal & NO aftercare - page 4 - The 2018 Community Foundation of Sarasota County Giving Challenge I am asking that VCS has 100% participation for the upcoming Giving Challenge. Please prayerfully consider donating a minimum of $30 dollars. If all of our families give the minimum, we will raise over $10,000. This effort is in place of our Victory Run donations, so we pray that you will reach out to any friends and family who would normally donate to Victory Run, and ask them to channel their donations through the Giving Challenge. HOW TO BE THE ONE : 1. Visit between Noon on Tues. May 1st and Noon on Weds. May 2nd. 2. Search Venice Christian School 3. Give an online donation of $25 or more and it will be DOUBLED up to $100! Credit and debit cards are accepted. Each unique donor gift will be matched! #BeTheOne/#GivingChallenge18 We have been blessed with many faithful supporters and VCS families. We pray for God to bless us indeed! Jerry Frimmel Principal
2 2018 Giving Challenge/Victory Run Our 2018 Victory Run fundraiser is once again joining forces with the Community Foundation of Sarasota County's Giving Partner Challenge. This single combined effort will allow donations of between $25 and $100 to be matched dollar for dollar. When: May 1 - May 2 noon to noon How: Donors go to GivingPartnerChallenge.com, Search Venice Christian School Follow the instructions as given Computer stations will be available on campus to assist in your giving. This is our one and only fundraiser for the school and we are asking ALL of our families to contribute during this time. We have been blessed to be able to support the many needs of our school but there are on-going needs outside of the budget. These include a new BUS and additional security. If all of our families gave $30, we would receive approximately $10,000. If all gave $50, we would receive almost $17,000. We received over $30,000 last year from our friends and families. Please consider a gift to the school. 2

Our yearbooks are sold online at yearbookforever.com. Go to the website, enter Venice Christian School and the simply follow the ordering instructions. Yearbooks are distributed in mid May.
