1 Mr. Wesley LaVanchy, M.B.A Wetlands Dr. Frederick CO September 21, 2018 Ms. Maria E. Gonzalez Estevez, Please find enclosed my resume and cover letter for your consideration as Englewood interim manager. As the previous manager of one of the fastest growing communities in Colorado, I have solid, progressive experience with best practices in management and community development. With the opportunity, I had significant exposure to complex planning and community development, strategic negotiations and business agreements, budget coordination, intergovernmental agreements and public relation efforts with stakeholders. My community repeatedly was ranked as one of the safest cities in the state of Colorado for its tier and achieved recognition by Money Magazines to be included in its top 25 for best small communities to live in the U.S. I consider myself to have strong communication and people skills, and I utilize a proactive solution-focus approach to problem solving, striving to build consensus where possible. At my previous employment, I sought to improve my own organization s structure, communications, internal processes, customer service and public outreach efforts to make it highly effective to the community. I have also worked diligently to mentor the staff team in pursuit of a culture of excellence with a strong emphasis on integrity and accountability. One of my final accomplishments was to assemble a team that facilitated the annexation and development of a 1,300-acre master planned community, Barefoot Lakes with Brookfield Residential. Most recently, I have provided consulting services for local governments including the City of Greeley, CO, The Town of Windsor, CO, Central Weld County Water District, CO and Brookfield Residential metropolitan districts. I have provided interim management, finance modeling, economic development review, organization assessment and complex negotiations on district formation, land use and water resource management. As my resume indicates, I have also sought out opportunities to make a difference in my community, the region as well as my profession by serving on the board for the Colorado City
2 and County Managers Association (President), Metro North Chamber of Commerce, Upstate Economic Development Corporation, National League of Cities policy committee on community and economic development and the CSAFE local government investment pool. In each of these, I sought to foster collaboration as well as effective governance in an effort to improve operations, empower staff, and maximize efficiencies. Thank you for your consideration for this position! Sincerely, Wesley LaVanchy, M.B.A.
