1 Background Collaboration of the leading EU experts and reform leaders in the Balkans started informally from the beginning of democratic transition of ex-yugoslavian countries. Emerging network contributed to numerous events, structures and projects like anti-authoritarian protest in Serbia 1991, and similar actions in the region; media conference for peaceful resolution of crises in Paris in 1999, European Movement Training Academy for Western Balkans in January 2005, the first high level conference EU programmes and funds for Serbia in Brussels in June 2008 (program is available at etc. (BSN) was formally initiated during the first Gathering of the reform leaders from the western Balkan regions and experts on EU project funding organized in May 2010 in Brussels to solve some immediate and critical problems in economic and social reforms and development of Western Balkans countries (Conference programme is available at ); Soon after, BSN was created as a regional not-for-profit network of experienced consultants, experts, academics and officials aiming to provide immediate and effective support to organizations and project leaders at the forefront of reforms to use maximally and most effectively the funds available from EU programmes. BSN founding assembly was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 10 th of October Through its proactive engagement in major reform initiatives and experienced leadership, BSN established itself in the international community as an innovative, accountable and ethical leader in Western Balkans with a favourable cost to quality and impact ratio. BSN today, is a regional cross-sector framework, evidence-based and result-oriented engine at the forefront of European project development, performance management, training and policy advancement, dedicated to upgrade cooperation, coordination and mutual understanding among relevant agencies, national authorities, business sector, academia, R&D, entrepreneurs, civic sector, NGOs, Union bodies and other relevant stakeholders for successful creation of a European ideal of freedom, security and justice in the WB regions. 4 What have we achieved so far? BSN Training Academy designed and implemented over 300 info sessions, seminars, conferences and training programmes; Detail report is in the Annex.
