5 Describe the activity you want to use $10k for, either as part of your operations or a specific program. We would like to use the 10K for our STEM4Women program. This program is empowering young, vulnerable girls/women to tap into a global movement to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) studies for 10 young women in 2-year tertiary-vocational degrees. STEM4Women utilizes extensive networks developed by our local NGO partner (KAPE) to leverage limited resources in support of these aims including career counseling and confident workforce entry. These 10 young women are currently in their first year of studies and we would use the 10K for their second year of tertiary vocational degrees to become qualified and enter the workforce in Cambodia. How much will this activity cost in total, and therefore how much would $10k from TFN contribute? The total cost of the two-year program is $27, 452 USD. We have already fully funded the first year and we are seeking the funding for the second year. In total, we need $10, 250 USD ($13, 312 AUD based on 26/10 exchange rate) to fund the second year of this program. A $10,000 TFN contribution would cover 75% of this funding. Who are the beneficiaries of your organisation's work? Children and communities living in rural areas of Cambodia, Rwanda and Indonesia. How many people would $10k impact and what difference would it make to their lives? 10 young women are the direct beneficiaries of STEM4Women and their families and communities are the indirect beneficiaries. The 10 women who graduate from this program will build careers in the STEM areas and will earn good salaries. This will benefit them and their families as educated women lift others out of poverty. They raise children who are more than twice as likely to also be educated. It's difficult to quantify the exact amount of lives these 10 girls may be able to influence, but it's certain that they will become future leaders and inspiration to young girls in Cambodia. What are the expected outcomes and how will you measure them? We are measuring the expected outcomes in 4 milestones. Milestone 1 is the recruitment and graduation from technical colleges (in Thailand). Milestone 2 is the recruitment and graduation from vocational training institutions (in Cambodia). Milestone 3 is measured by employment visibility events with local employers to ensure high rates of employment. Milestone 4 is an alumnus network establishment where successful graduates can help support future KAPE programming, which aligns well with the idea of collective philanthropy among women.
