This past Thursday TCSCO sponsored a Flamenco Performance for all of our students as part of an ongoing effort to bring more multi-cultural activities to TCCS. The show was fantastic and the students were able to learn a lot about the tradition and history of this special genre of dance. We also had our first ever TCCS Talent Show. The cafeteria was packed with supportive parents, students and staff and of course the performers did not disappoint. What a talented group of students! Special thanks to TCSCO, Mr. V. and Ms. Melissa for organizing these events. Announcements/Reminders The Board Elections are quickly approaching; packets will be available in the main office on March 1 st for any interested potential candidates. (See the attached flyer) The next TCCS Board of Trustees Meeting is Monday, March 7 th, at 7:30pm. All community members are invited to attend. This Tuesday, March 8 th is our 5 th and 6 th grade Science Fair from 7:00pm-8:30pm. Please come see the amazing projects from Mrs. Tinter s classes. (see attached flyer) Parent / Teacher conferences will be held on March 14 th and March 16 th. Parents can still set-up appointments with Ms. Yvonne until Wednesday, March 9. K-4 parents can call between 9:30am - 12:00pm and 5 th -8 th grade parents from 12:00pm 2:30pm. Our Spring Book Fair will run from March 14 March 18, Registration for Camp TCCS 2011 has begun! Please visit the following link to register online: (see attached flyer) International Food Night is quickly approaching. We are in need of COOKS so start thinking about your favorite recipe. (See the attached flyer) The Mobile Dentists are coming on April 6 th for any interested K-6 th grade parents. We still need 10 more students so if you are interested in this FREE service please contact Nurse Tovo at ltovo@tccsnj.org Attached, please find some important documents from TCSCO regarding the upcoming show by David Gonzalez and also items for the Dinner Dance. 2 2011 Elections for the TCCS Board of Trustees Become more involved in your School. Consider running for one of the 3 seats that are up for election this year. TCCS Board positions are for 3 year terms: July 2011 through June 2014 If you are interested in becoming a member of the Board of Trustees, please note the following key dates: March 1 March 28 April 4 7 April 25 May 4 Application packets are available to interested potential candidates. Please see Mrs. Straughn in the office to get your copy. Application packets are due. (Return to Mrs. Straughn). Potential Candidate interviews are scheduled with the Nominating Committee. Candidates Position Paper due at the scheduled time of the interview. Candidates announced and position papers sent to the TCCS community. OPEN FORUM EVENING MEET THE CANDIDATES May 9 ELECTION DAY. Votes will be tallied; validated by non-voting Member of community; winners announced. Each parent/guardian of an enrolled TCCS student and each staff member are entitled to one vote. Public announcement will appear in the Suburbanite and the Bergen Record.

5 Camp TCCS is returning for the summer of 2011!!! With themed activities, crafts, tournaments, games, and weekly swimming trips, Camp TCCS is the perfect way for students to pass those long summer months! Camp is staffed by our very own TCCS faculty, so there are plenty of safe and familiar faces to interact with. Camp will run 6 weeks, from July 11 to August 19. Hours are 8:30am 3:30pm, with optional aftercare until 6:00pm (for an additional fee of $75.00 per week). Cost: $ per week.
