() has been appointed by the Applicant, Humansrus Solar 4 (Pty) Ltd., as independent environmental assessment practitioner (EAP), to facilitate the Scoping & Environmental Impact Reporting (S&EIR) process required in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA, Act 107 of 1998) and 2014 Regulations for the proposed Humansrus 4 PV Solar Development, near Prieska in the Northern Cape. The Applicant intends to develop a 75MW (megawatt) Photovoltaic (PV) solar power development, with a footprint of approximately 220ha, on a portion of Farm 147 Humansrus, located approximately 10km south of the town of Copperton and 50kms west of Prieska. The electricity to be generated by the solar photovoltaic panels will be fed into the national grid via the existing Kronos Substation. Associated infrastructure will thus include a 132kV transmission line (within an existing Eskom servitude), as well as an onsite substation, auxiliary buildings, access and internal roads, perimeter fencing etc. The procedures for S&EIR process in terms of the 2014 Regulations (R983, R984 & R985) are being followed for this project. This notification forms part of the Pre Application phase of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process. A formal Application for Environmental Authorisation will be submitted to the national Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) once the initial review period has been completed. As a potential Stakeholder / Neighbour / Organ of State / State Department, you are hereby requested to confirm your registration as an Interested & Affected party (I&AP). Furthermore you are hereby notified that the Pre Application Scoping Report (SR) is available for review and comment for a period of 21 days extending from Friday 20 November to Thursday 10 December Hard copies of the Pre Application Scoping Report have been placed at the following venues for review: Prieska Library (located on Stewart Street, Prieska) Siyathemba Municipality offices (located on Victoria Street, Prieska) D.J.
