1 2019 STATE CONFERENCE INVITATIONS INSTRUCTIONS: A student may compete in one contest from each category, for a total of three of the four categories if they can schedule it. Please note that contestant schedules will not be altered to accommodate a student competing in multiple contests, so please plan the student s schedule wisely. Those contests that have invitations per school are allowed to register competitors regardless of placing at district competition. Should a first or second competitor for districts not be able to attend conference, the option to compete will be granted to the third place winner at the district level. As per the state technical standards, ties may be awarded for the technical information tests, so all students placing are invited to attend conference. 7 CONTESTS NOT NORMALLY HELD INSTRUCTIONS: Schools wishing to register students for one of the below contests MUST submit an intent-to-enter form to the state office by February 1 st. If only a single school plans to register, an inhouse contest will be required and student(s) must satisfy competition requirements before they will be allowed to advance to the National Leadership & Skills Conference. Please keep in mind that the below contests aren t typically held at the State Leadership & Skills Conference and you may be asked to chair the contest, serve on the contest committee, and/or host the contest should we have more than one school. If you are unable to do so, your student will not be eligible to compete.
