3 Deans Comment Challenged by the evolving realities in The Banking and Allied Industries subsector in the Nigerian economy, there is a demand for production and supply of highly resourceful and exceptionally skilled, re-skilled and upskilled staff who can successfully meet the needs of this growing and highly competitive industry. At the School of Banking Honours (SBH), we are positioned to produce graduates who would take leading roles in the financial Industry subsector of the economy. School of Banking Honours (first of its kind) is a member of the Innovation Enterprise Institutions (IEIs( created by Federal Ministry of Education (FME) under accreditation and supervision of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to drive a new policy of emphasizing skills education over the curriculum of conventional tertiary institutions Our mission statement is to apply a highly resourceful and empowered faculty, to cultivate cost-effective methods in Mentoring, Skilling, Re-skilling and Up-skilling our students for the banking industry... In achieving this objective, SBH admits a cross-section of the Nigerian youth ranging from High school leavers (Skilling programme) and University Graduates (Re-Skilling program) to Entry-level bank staff (Up- Skilling) program to take up the challenges of today in banking operations. At School of Banking Honours, our main goal is to raise operational champions. All our programmes are centred on raising a new generation of empowered leaders with broader perspective and greater insight into banking practices. SBH will provide you with 100% practical experience. You will work passionately with seasoned professional bankers in various spheres gaining knowledge required for excellence in banking practices. In addition, you will have close interaction with the distinguished SBH faculty who will steer you to the shores of success. Welcome to our school

4 SBH- Our Location School of Banking Honours (SBH) is located in Lagos, the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria. Lagos (former capital of Nigeria) has three Shipping ports and two Airports (local and international). It is the most populous city in Nigeria. At the last census by Lagos State government it was reported as having a population of over 17 million. Lagos is currently the second most populous city in Africa after Cairo, and is estimated to be the fastest growing city in Africa (UN-HABITAT, As a city Lagos retains much of the nation's wealth and economic activity are concentrated within the state. All Industries ranging from banking to Oil and Gas, Telecoms, Hospitality etc. have their Head Offices located in Lagos. As a city Lagos has one of the highest standards of living as compared to other cities in Nigeria or in Africa.

6 About Us School of Banking Honours (SBH) is a member of Innovation Enterprise Institutions (IEIs) created by The Federal Ministry of Education (FME), under the supervision and accreditation of National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in May 2007, to drive a new policy of emphasizing skills education over the curriculum of conventional tertiary institutions. Our School was incorporated in Nigeria on June 24 th, 2010 as School of Banking Honours (Limited by Guarantee). We have the status of a non-governmental organisation (NGO). Under this mandate, SBH is expected to skill High School Leavers to acquire The National Innovation Diploma (NID) in Banking Operations Techniques ( 24 months), Re-Skill Nigeria Graduates to acquire National Innovation Certificates (NIC) in Banking Operations (programmes ranging 3-9 months), and Up-Skill Bank Staff in all aspects of Banking Operation techniques.

By way of: Franchising : Owner operator scheme funded by franchise operator. School owned campuses : Operated and funded by Skills Education and Enterprise Developers Ltd (SEED). Joint Ventures (JV s): Operated by SBH but jointly funded by SEED and Partners.

17 Oladimeji Alo, Ph.D Dr. Alo was President of West African Bankers Association, and ex-national executive committee member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He was a member of Ethics sub-committee of the Bankers Committee, and ex-president of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management. With a Ph.D in Industrial Psychology, he recorded successes on corporate governance issues in the banking and finance sector of the economy. He is an alumnus of University of Ife, and was head of Coopers & Lybrand Associates (UK legacy firm), before being made Director-General of Financial Institutions Training Centre. He was visiting lecturer to University of California, Los Angeles, and is Chairman of the Governing Council of SBH. Kemi is a Banking & Finance graduate of University of Lagos with Masters in Banking & Finance from University of Ibadan. She is a fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, and a founding member of Women in Banking & Finance in Nigeria. She attended the Strategic Human Resources Management course in Harvard, and has over 20 years practical banking experience, exiting at Standard Trust Bank (now UBA) where she managed over 3000 staff, bank-wide. Until she was recently invited to Nigeria, she was Executive Director of Values 4London, a non-charitable NGO promoting values & morality education among UK s multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and restless youth. She is the Dean / CEO of SBH. Kemi Adekoya 17

18 Soji Otudeko Soji graduated in Accounting from University of Lagos before joining Z.O. Ososanya & Co for his professional accounting training. He has a PGD (Admin) from De Montfort University UK, and is a Fellow of Chartered Management Institute (UK) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He worked briefly in Nigeria before a stint at NatWest Bank UK. He joined National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (UK) as Finance Manager. He was Head of Finance, Ravensbourne College, and later, Director of Finance & Compliance of KICC (UK). He is a Trustee of a christian charity, Charis Communications (UK), and pastors across Nigeria and UK. He is the Vice Chairman of SBH. Gbadegeshin is an Accounting graduate of University of Lagos, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, where he was a Council member. He had his professional training with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) before venturing into the world of corporate finance. He is an accomplished facilitator on accounting, marketing and stock-broking courses. He is also an renowned author on several academic and professional titles stocked and published by reputable publishers. He consults on the training programmes of many banks. He is a regular facilitator on accounting and marketing courses organized by SBH. Gbadegeshin Gbede 18

19 Demola Bakare Demola is a Soil Science graduate of University of Ibadan, an M.Sc holder in Management & Extension Services of University of Reading (UK), and an MBA product of University of Ibadan. He was for several years the Ikeja Branch Manager of Savannah Bank Plc from where he promoted McStraw Nigeria Limited, an investment advisory firm. He has presented papers on finance, bank credit, bank operations and supervisory skills at various programmes of Credit Culture (a stakeholder in SBH), and has demonstrated commitment to programmes initiated by SBH. Suzan is a graduate of University of Nigeria where she had an MBA. She was Head, People Listening Unit of Standard Trust Bank Plc (now UBA) before joining Credit Culture as HR Consultant and Resource Person. She regularly and effectively represented Credit Culture on programmes organized by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, nationwide. She anchored HR / Customer Service courses of Credit Culture. She has recently joined ARM as Head of Human Resources, and is committed to SBH programmes as guest lecturer. Suzan Effiong-Akpan 19

20 Atinuke Rogers Atinuke is a Graduate of Statistics from University of Ilorin, with a Masters in Banking & Finance from Delta State University, as well as a Masters in Supply Chain & Operations Strategy. She started her banking career with Afribank in 1994 as a Customer Relations Officer, and moved variously from there to Gulf Bank of Nigeria, Fortune Bank Plc, Platinum-Habib Bank Nigeria, and Ecobank, all spanning 11 years, cumulatively. She exited the banking industry as Head of Credit & Marketing of Ecobank. Atinuke is currently the Investment Manager of Rogetide Nigeria Limited, an investment advisory firm with significant portfolio on the Capital market. She is a Resource person in Banking Operations studies at SBH. Leke is is a graduate of University of Ibadan with an MBA. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and has a professional certification in Project Management. Leke has extensive experience in multinational firms, spanning a period of 12 years, and public sector assignments, spanning 7 years. He also has over 10 years key experience in academics, with over 10 years experience in business consulting. He was an Associate Partner in Phillips Consulting with various exposures to big ticket jobs, locally and international. He is a resource person in SBH. Leke Olufade 20

21 Sola Bickersteth Sola is a graduate of Electronics and Electrical Engineering of Obafemi Awolowo University, before firming up his managerial skills at Harvard Business School. He has been in ICT for about 20 years, and has membership of ICT associations like Nigeria Internet Registration, Electronics Payment Association, Global VSAT Forum, Nigeria Internet Group and Africa Network Info Centre. He was involved in developing World s largest digital facility at Chams, satellite communications hub with Viasat Inc, ecommerce with Smartpay and satellite solution with Panasat. Tola is a Chemistry graduate of University of Ibadan, and a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He started his career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in audit, accountancy, taxation and later on, staff training, with a total experience spanning 27 years on teaching financial /credit-related courses. He used to volunteer at Fate Foundation (Nigeria), Faith-in-Business (UK), FITC and CMD programmes. He is presently the CEO of Credit Culture Limited, a stakeholder in SBH. Tola Adekoya 21
