2 Blue and green growth blue growth addresses the economic potential of the Baltic Sea for growth and jobs across the shores of the South Baltic. green growth underlines the need to pursue the path of economic growth in balance with the environment, in particular by utilising South Baltic s rich natural and cultural heritage in a sustainable and preserving manner.
3 Which regions are eligible? in Denmark: Regional Municipality of Bornholm and Region Zealand (subregions: Østsjælland, Vestog Sydsjælland); in Germany: districts (Landkreise) of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Nordwestmecklenburg, Rostock, Vorpommern-Rügen, Vorpommern- Greifswald and district-free city (kreisfreie Stadt): Rostock; in Lithuania: counties of Klaipėda, Tauragė and Telšiai; in Poland: subregions of: Miasto Szczecin, Szczeciński, Stargardzki, Koszaliński, Słupski, Starogardzki, Gdański, Trójmiejski and Elbląski; in Sweden: counties of: Kalmar, Blekinge, Skåne and Kronoberg.
4 How much funding is available? The Programme provides co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for cooperation activities between two or more organisations from at least two participating Member States; The funds available for cross-border efforts that unlock the potential for blue and green growth amount to ca. 78 M EUR. The co-financing rate for Polish, Lithuanian and German beneficiaries is up to 85% of their eligible project costs; Swedish and Danish beneficiaries receive up to 75% of ERDF cofinancing; The ERDF co-financing is paid on the basis of semi-annual reimbursements.
5 Who can receive funding? The following types of organisations can form partnerships and submit applications (non-exhaustive list): public administrations and agencies; public or private (having either public or non-profit character) companies dealing with communal and municipal environmental and energy management, public transport or transport infrastructure administration; R&D facilities and educational institutions; associations of public or private bodies and NGOs, natural and cultural heritage protection organisations.
6 How can beneficiaries engage? Their organisation has a legal personality; Their organisation is based in the eligible area (in exceptional and well-justified cases, project partners can be located outside the eligible Programme area; see section III.2 of the Programme Manual); The challenge / opportunity requires joint actions across borders; The joint action can be accomplished by their organisation and their partner organisation(s) from (an)other Member State(s); The joint action will be carried out in the Programme eligible area; The joint action corresponds with a Programme specific objective.

12 Why is it beneficial to engage? By participating in a project, beneficiaries would be able to: investigate best practices and exchange knowledge and experience related to SME internationalisation or SME innovation capacity, sustainable transport or tourism, green technologies, human resource or cooperation capacitiy; cooperate with partners and jointly develop tailored solutions for the blue and green sectors; test innovative technologies, tools and methods in practice; form international networks with organisations pursuing the same mission; experience the cross-sector cooperation possibilities in an international setting.

18 2 nd seed money call The call was open between 10th and 30th January 2017 for specific objectives 3.1 and 4.1; 11 proposals submitted; 5 ideas for sustainable transport and 6 for skills development; requested ERDF amounts to 356,000 EUR in total; 4 proposals from DE; 3 from PL, 2 from LT and 2 from SE: The decision for funding of the Monitoring Committee is expected in mid March The implementation period for approved seed money projects will be March - June 2017 and for those aiming at the 5th call August- November 2017.
