7 About projects Project budget min up to (for partnerships with at least 1 partner from the Baltic states and at least 1 from donor states) and 1 mill for partnerships with EE+LV+LT and at least 1 from donor states Project lenght: min. 3 years, max up to April 30, 2024 EE call through Estonian Research Information System (ETIS) - Guidelines for applicants available on the homepage of ETAg
8 Eligible costs Personnel costs (cost of staff assigned to the project) Travel and subsistence allowances for staff taking part in the project Subcontracting costs (no more than 15% of total budget project) Other costs (consumables) Institutional overhead (flat rate of 25% of total direct eligible costs)! Costs are eligible if they are justified, necessary and appropriate and directly related to the project!! For project promoter and each project partner a separate budget should be planned and prepared!! Costs should be stated in EUR!
9 About projects II Type of projects joint research collaboration projects, activities promoting measures to increase mobility of researchers, PhD students and postdocs. Starting platform for future cooperation. Selection criteria similar to other research funding schemes in Estonia 1 application = 2 international experts = 1 consensus report Single ranking list to be submitted to the Programme Committee Programme Committee has possibility to give up to 1 additional point according to: - proposals relevance to the challenges specified for EE call (0.5 points); - potential added value from the collaboration between Baltic countries + donor country (0.5 points)
10 Challenges for Estonian call (research) Priority is given to applications addressing the following challenges in the Baltic region (also match with Estonian Research and Development and Innovation Strategy ): Public health; translational medicine; health technologies Migration; social inclusion Regional cyber security; public security Environmentally friendly solutions Regional economic development; employment; labour market regulations and social policy More effective use of resources
11 Timeline for research projects 31 January Deadline for submitting proposals in ETIS 1 February 2019 planned start of selection period May 2019 planned end of selection periood June-August 2019 signing the contracts September 2019 planned start of the projects October 2019 seminar for project promoters In 2021 proposed mid-term evaluation of the projects 30 April 2024 planned end of projects
12 Scholarships (implementing agency Foundation Archimedes) Higher education institutional cooperation projects (curricula development activities, personal and professional development of academic and HEI staff, student exchange etc) Mobility projects between higher education institutions in EE and donor states (for academic and non-academic staff) 3 calls in total (calls in 2019, 2020, 2021) Universities and higher educational institutions can apply for the grants
