NO BAKE Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, & Chocolate Cookies Ingredients: 1/2Cup unsalted butter 2Cups granulated sugar 1/2Cup Milk 4Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder Pinch of salt Five Guys Burgers & Fries Family Night THANK YOU to all of the families who came out to dinner at Five Guys. Fasunpto.weebly.com 1/2Cup Peanut Butter 2Teaspoons vanilla extract 3Cups quick-cooking oats Add the 1st five ingredients to a sauce pan and bring to a rapid boil. Boil for 1 min and remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter & vanilla until smooth. Stir in oats. Scoop 2Tablespoons onto parchment lined baking sheet and let cool. (about 30 minutes) Eat and Enjoy! Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities Are you wondering why we are talking Teacher Appreciation Week in a March newsletter? (It will be celebrated May 2, 2016 May 6, 2016) Well, that is because the PTO, along with Dr. Sandberg and all of the administration staff, want to make sure this year s Teacher Appreciation Week is nothing short of fantastic! With our events coordinator, Cristina Garner, leading the way we have BIG plans for the week to show our teachers & facul- ty we are thankful. We wanted to give you the heads up so that you may participate and be involved with as much as you would like. There will be a lot of volunteer / service hour opportunities for our Franklin Families. The opportunities will vary from item donations, helping hands, messages from your students, assembly and set up, etc. Each day will have its own theme and special treats for our teachers. I cannot say much more at this time since we do not want to let the teachers in on too much. Be on the look out in the weeks to come. Make sure we have your contact information if this is something you will want to partake in! Pto-sun@franklin-academy.org Pre-Registration Would be Required. Minimum Attendance Must be Met in Order Provide This Activity. Movie Title to be Announced Soon! Drop your Franklin Sunrise students off and head out for some kid-free time! Admission will provide a movie, snack and drink pack, & supervision. Additional snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Admission will be $1/child for PTO Members students and $5/child for FA-Sunrise students. PERFECT Punch Card purchase as we suggest you purchase the $10.00 punch card, use the card for admission, and then that leaves your student(s) with a portion left over to spend on snacks and drinks.

4 DO WE HAVE YOUR ADDRESS? If you are not receiving any correspondence from the PTO please send your information our way. We send out the SignUpGenius sign ups via and do not want anyone to miss out on any events coming up! Please send us an letting your PTO know what you would like to see more of. We may do a Facebook poll in the near future to gauge family interest of which activities are most appealing to you. Is it Family Night at local restaurants? Is it more on campus activities? We want to know. You can us your preferences and suggestions or visit us on Facebook. We value your feedback! Next PTO Meeting will take place April 2016! Be sure to attend the next PTO meeting as this will include nominations for PTO Executive Board Members for the 2016/2017 school year! Visit Franklin Academy s website and select the PTO tab to review the bylaws and position descriptions. We will forward the information for nominations VERY SOON! From the Bylaws; Section 2: Nominations and Elections. Election process will begin at the April meeting each year. The nominating committee will receive nominations during the month of April and create a ballot for the May meeting. At that meeting, nominations may also be made from the floor if there is not a candidate in a specific position. Voting shall be by ballot if there is more than one candidate for a specific position. Absentee ballots must be requested by the member no later than 72 hours prior to the election day meeting time via to PTO-SUN@franklin-academy.org. The absentee ballot will be ed back to member no later than 48 hours prior to the election day meeting time. The member must the ballot directly to the designated school administrator no later than 9am the school day following the election, to be included with all votes. Section 3: Eligibility. Only parents and guardians of children attending Franklin Academy Charter School (Sunrise) are eligible for elected board positions. Members are eligible for office if they are members in good standing at least fourteen (14) calendar days before the nominating committee begins receiving nominations
