1 5 th International Congress for Facility Management November 29 th - 30 th, 2012 Vienna University of Technology CALL FOR PAPERS New Deadline: May, 7 th, 2012 In 2012 the Congress for Facility Management will take place for the 5 th time. It successfully connects science and commercial practice. Due to the high scientific level the congress is one of the leading conventions in Facility Management. The IFM (Real Estate and Facility Management) at the Vienna University of Technology and its partners in research and science has been established as an important link between practitioners and researchers since 12 years. The most interesting topics of the profession will be viewed by different angles with the objective of presenting new solutions to the participants. We invite you to submit your abstracts and papers. The IFM-Congress creates high interest within scholars every year, which can be seen from the large number of submissions. It belongs to the leading scientific conventions due to its scientific committee, consisting of leading professors. Because of its high quality level it has a quota of rejection of 50%. The papers accepted will be published in the Journal für Facility Management (with ISBN), edited by the Vienna University of Technology. Due to the blue-ribbon commission and the high quality standards the journal is among the most renowned scientific publications in the field of Facility Management. Please send an abstract of your paper. Once it is accepted you will be invited to send us the Full Paper. If the Full Paper also has been accepted you may present it at the conference. Language Papers written and to be presented in English or German are welcome. We will provide simultaneous translation of the lectures in English / German, so we invite especially guests from abroad to join the congress.

3 Length of submissions If you are interested in this conference and wish to offer a paper, please send an abstract describing the topic as precisely as possible. Therefore it is limited to 500 words. The full paper should not exceed 8 pages. If it is accepted you will receive detailed guidelines for the format design of the contributions. A conference session is limited a 20 minute speaker presentation, followed by 10 minutes for questions and answers. Formatting Abstracts and papers should be sent as Word files to kongress@ifm.tuwien.ac.at. Please format your Power-Point-files according to the style sheet published on the homepage. Licences All accepted conference papers will be published in "Journal für Facility Management" with ISBNnumber. Authors of accepted papers must sign a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 2.0 Germany (ccl) copyright release form. For being considered every submission must be provided under the terms of a licence, providing the IFM and its partners the unrestricted, non-exclusive right for publishing and using it in any form (e.g. CD-ROM, DVD, Web or print). The authors can choose from a list of licences which meets these demands. The contribution s titles containing information about the author (Name, Curriculum Vitae etc.) may be published in the printed version of the congress program and on the web, as soon as they are accepted by the scientific committee. The lectures may be recorded (audio and video). These cuts are provided under the same licences as the written texts. Submitting a contribution implies the acceptance to this approach. Contributions, that are submitted with any exception (e.g. Non- Disclosure-Agreements etc.) cannot be considered and are not reviewed. All other contributions are reviewed by the scientific committee according to several criteria. Submissions and their contents will be treated strictly confidently until accepted by the committee. Validations will be held completely confidently. If possible and desired we will give the authors a feedback on the validations that have been given to their papers or abstracts. Review Submitted abstracts and papers will be carefully evaluated by the Scientific Committee based on content, scientific quality and the significance for the congress in a Double Blind Review.

Roper Georgia University of Technology (USA) Fees For all speakers whose papers have been accepted no conference fee is charged. Included are also lunch, snacks and drinks during both days and the participation at the social event in the evening. We provide beamer, notebook and a flipchart. Therefore it is important to send your presentation to the committee in time. The conference is mainly organised by honorary office and funded by sponsoring. We ask you to understand that we are not able to pay any allowances for your contribution. Journal for Facility Management All accepted papers will be published in the journal (with ISBN). Accomodations On our website you can find an overview of accommodations in Vienna. Additionally we will gladly help with finding an adequate housing.
