2 nearly 1 in 10 san diegans between the ages of 16 and 24 are disconnected from school and work. 41,000. That s just shy of Petco Park s full capacity. It s also the estimated number of young people in San Diego County who are NOT in school or working also known as opportunity youth. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Our nation has an opportunity to invest in them. And it starts with us. 3 Last year, 750 changemakers met to hear from an expert lineup of speakers to dig deep into issues that affect opportunity youth. Join us for our 2019 Opportunity Summit as we double down on efforts to cut the rate and halve the gap by 2020 our region s call to action. BY cut the rate to 7.3% Reduce the percentage of year-olds not in school and not working to 7.3% or lower. halve the gap to 4.4% No neighborhood should be more than 4.4% above the county-wide disconnection rate, halving the gap between the area with the highest rate (18.6%) and the county average of 9.7%. Keynote Speaker Sponsor (2 available) Align your company with a 2019 Opportunity Summit keynote speaker by sponsoring their presentation and introducing them. Our keynote presenters are dynamic speakers and well-known leaders with national reputation. Your logo will be visible throughout their presentation on a banner or video projection. Keynote speaker sponsors will have the opportunity to meet in a private setting with the speaker. Lunch Sponsor You will be invited to provide signage in the lunch area and have the opportunity to give a 3-minute speech before lunch introducing your company and highlighting your connection to the opportunity youth issue. This sponsor may also provide swag or other logo representation for the tables where attendees will eat and experience the lunchtime plenary session. SPONSORSHIPS VALUED AT $15,000 Breakfast & Coffee Sponsor Attendees arrive early for networking, breakfast and coffee. This sponsorship includes prominent signage at the event near the food as well as on-screen during breakfast. This sponsor may provide swag or other logo representation for the tables where attendees will eat and experience the first plenary session as well. LED Wall/Sound & Lighting Sponsor Your name/logo in lights! This sponsor will be thanked from the stage and their logo will appear on all conference logistics slides (displayed prominently before the event and between presenters). This sponsorship will allow us to provide an enhanced audio-visual experience at the event through an LED wall. Research Report Sponsor Associate your generosity with rigorous research and quality data. In addition to a stage mention when the research is presented, this sponsor s logo will appear on the report summary received by 750 attendees and distributed throughout the year to 500 or more community members. The report garners significant media coverage, which will link to the report. Wifi Sponsor As the exclusive wifi sponsor, your company will receive recognition and thanks in all printed and online event materials, signage in all session rooms recognizing and thanking sponsor for providing free wifi access, home screen/landing page directing users to URL/message of sponsor s choice, customized network password (chosen by sponsor), and gratitude from the attendees everyone loves free wifi! Attendees will be notified of the free wifi service several times prior to the event and sponsor will be recognized and thanked in each notification.

The sponsor logo will be displayed during performance introductions. Parking Sponsor The sponsor s brand will be the first and last seen by attendees. As an exclusive sponsor, you will have the opportunity to brand the parking/valet signs reserved for participants. With your sponsorship, attendees will enjoy free parking. Resource Fair Sponsor Be the sponsor that helps connect hundreds of young adults to supportive services provided by partner nonprofit organizations. The resource fair sponsor logo will be displayed prominently in the resource fair space. Lanyard and Badge Have your company name and logo on our official Opportunity Summit badges required to be worn by all attendees. One of the most recognizable sponsorship opportunities at the event. Notebook and Pens The high-quality notebook and pen is always a takeaway hit. And with your logo on them, this sponsorship offers strong brand recognition that lasts long after the summit ends. SPONSORSHIPS VALUED AT $7,500 Opportunity Summit Bags This is a great way to promote your brand throughout the venue as all 800 attendees tote around their programs, swag materials and giveaways. Your company s logo will be the only sponsor logo included on the bag. Advocacy Day for Youth Council This will cover expenses to enable our Opportunity Youth Leadership Council to travel to the state capitol to advocate on behalf of their communities by speaking directly to state officials about their experiences. Includes on stage verbal recognition during the event.

6 SPONSORSHIPS VALUED AT $5,000 Program Printing Our gorgeous, professionally-designed program will elevate the brand of our program sponsor, whose logo will be displayed on the program cover. Art Expo The fine arts provide learners with invaluable benefits; promoting self-esteem, motivation, aesthetic awareness, cultural exposure, creativity, improved emotional expression, as well as social harmony and appreciation of diversity. There will be a visual arts installation filled with creations by opportunity youth who are working with nonprofit partners. The sponsor s name/logo will be prominently displayed in the art exhibit. Breakout room sponsors (6 available) Sponsor a breakout room where community members, elected officials, business leaders and young adults will come together to discuss important issues related to youth disconnection. Your logo will be displayed outside one of the breakout rooms for the entire conference day. You may also put up a roll-up display or poster inside the breakout room and distribute marketing material on a table in the breakout room. Youth Session Sponsor One of the powerful features of the Opportunity Summit is the participation of young adults. They attend all plenaries and any session they choose, but also can choose an experiential breakout session designed for them. The youth session sponsor will receive the same recognition and signage benefits of regular breakout room sponsors.

7 SPONSORSHIPS VALUED AT $500+ Sponsor 20 youth attendees (10 x $1,000) A key feature of the summit is attendance by young adult community members, whose perspective and energy infuse the event with grounding in the reality of opportunity youth. For each $1,000, 20 youth are able to attend the event at no charge. OpportunitySD Mini-Grants (5 x $1,000) New this year: $1,000 awards to recognize local organizations doing exceptional work preventing or reconnecting opportunity youth. Intended for small community-based organizations, these grants will show the importance of community mobilization in support of opportunity youth. The sponsor of each award will be announced during the on-stage ceremony. Quarterly OpportunitySD Webinar Sponsor (3 x $1000) OpportunitySD webinars draw 100+ attendees from around the region and nation. Show your commitment to the opportunity youth issue through this creative connection, which comes with live mentions and on-screen logo placement on the title, transition and Q&A slides. OpportunitySD Podcast Sponsor (10 x $500) Our new youth-produced podcast, which will explore young adult realities in San Diego, can be sponsored for $500/episode. Produced by David s Harp youth. 10 Annual Youth Transit Passes (10 x $600) Ten youth at the event will receive a free annual transit pass to help them get to work or school. Passes will be awarded by raffle, with each sponsor announced as the winning ticket is drawn. OpportunitySD Hope Fund The OpportunitySD Hope Fund will be made available to the community to help young adults with expenses that impede their participation in school or work, such as car repairs, appropriate clothing or equipment, textbook expenses and child care. For young people living on the edge, even a cost of a few hundred dollars can become the trigger to disconnection. The fund will be announced at the summit, with recognition for all Hope Fund donors from the stage.
